First of all, you should stop saving any new files to you canon camera (or SD card) or taking new pictures with you camera. Then find this card recovery software here Here are the steps: Step 1: Download and install the Digital Photo Recovery Software fromhttp://www.asoftech.com Step 2: Connect your camera (or SD card, memory card etc) to you PC Step 3: Scan the source drive where your lost pictures located. Step 4: Recover the lost pictures and save them to another drive instead of the source drive.

I'm not sure if this will work as I have yet to try this for my self. But according to others who have had this problem pulling lens out while camera is off and then restarting camera works. If this does work please notify. Or just tell me what happens when this is done

There is a grid of lines in my lcd screen

Is this a problem? The framing grid is there to assist you in lining things up, getting the horizon level, etc.

If you don't want it, press the DISP/BACK button repeatedly until you get the view you want.

I have a camera memory cards protected posts I've kept sliding the switch that is on the edge of my memory card still can not be strange if there is no memory card can be used but why there is no memo

Make sure the card you are trying to use is compatible with the camera. Most cameras have a surprisingly low size allowance for thr card. Putting a 32GB card into a camera that has a limit of 8GB will not work.

Powers on then shuts off

No such thing as a reset button you can use after you dropped the camera. But the first reaction should be, check where the damage is. If you have any damage on the lens (barrel) you should solve that. If the lens can't move the camera will shut down to prevent any damage to the moving parts of the camera. Then remove the battery. leave it out for a few moments and then reinsert the battery. Switch it on again. If it continues to switch off, i'm afraid it really is damaged a lot. Think what to do, let is repair or buy a new camera. First check what they will charge you for repairs.

The on/off slide switch broke off into 3 pieces and now i have no way of turning on or off camera, does anyone have an idea as to how much it will cost to repair?. I lic=ve in Niagara Falls Canada and

It depends where the camera is taken, if it goes back to the company it will be more expensive "ask for a quote" If you take it to a camera repair shop, ask for a estimate first, that way you are in control of the situation. The only problem is it will cost $30. maybe more to check it. But if you agree with the repair cost have then deduct the $30. or more making it a condition to fix it, "and get it in writing"

A Work Around For Dealing With a Broken Power Switch

Others have had this same problem, the plastic power on/off slider switch eventually breaks (absolutely ridiculous that it happens at all, and I treated mine very gently). I was going to throw mine out, then remembered that you can power the camera on by holding down the green arrow button (picture viewing button) on the back for two or three seconds. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to work to turn it off, so you just have to set it to power off after two minutes. Not a great solution, but better than throwing it away, and better than wasting money to have it repaired (if that's even possible).

Fix read error sd card

Not sure you tried all the things I should do. Be sure the cards are formatted, and try to format them in the camera. But before you put in any card, check with a bright light close to the memory card slot, if all the contacts are clean and free, Just a little bit of dust or paper on one contact, could spoil all the fun. The contacts should be clem and shiny. All straight and to one side, Not one can be a little bent. If someone ever pressed a memory card in the camera the wrong way around, a lot of damage should be seen down there with some contacts bent or broken. And be sure you did not switch all the cards to the lock position.
