For the most part CD/DvD Drives are pretty standard and there are no
drivers required other than what is supplied by the Operating System.
That's why when you look on your manufacturer's website you won't see
any drivers for the cd/dvd drive unless they are doing a firmware
update.When you click Start/My Computer is your CD/DvD drive
listed as a device? If not Remove the power cord, Remove the Battery,
turn the laptop over and Remove the screw that holds the DvD drive then
remove the drive from the slot for about 20 seconds. Put it all back
together then reboot and see if the drive is now listed under My
Computer.If the drive is still not listed under My Computer you will need to Remove Upper and Lower Filters.
Windows 7

- Click Start

- In the right pane, click UpperFilters.
Note You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You do
not have to remove that entry. Click UpperFilters only.
If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you still might have to
remove the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 8.
- On the Edit
menu, click Delete.
- When you are prompted to
confirm the deletion, click Yes.
- In the right pane, click LowerFilters.
