My HP Officejet J3608 All-In-One

Hi,

You need to drain the PC Power.

Turn off PC and Turn off Printer
Unplug the power cable from PC to wall socket.( or surge protector )
Unplug the power cable from Printer to Wall socket ( or surge protector )
Disconnect the USB cable from Printer to PC

Wait for 10 minutes.

First connect the power cable of PC and turn it ON
Once the PC is up and running, Connect the power cord to Printer and Turn on the printer
When the Printer is initialized ( or back to normal screen or stage ) Connect the USB cable to Printer and PC.

It should work.

How do I set up

use the CD that came with the printer.it has the full feature software that will enable the printing and scanning capability of the printer.
- insert the disk in the CD-ROM drive - hit install - reminder:do not plug in the USB cable yet unless you are prompted by the installer to do so - after installing the software , make a test print to prove the functionality of the printer. - then we move on to test the scanner -there are two ways to make a scan: 1. click on the solution center icon on the desktop. 2. in the solution center , there are two buttons for scanning: scan pictures and scan document 3. scanned documents are saved under the MY SCANS folder. file path is : my documents or simply documents---->MY SCANS 4.for scanned pictures file path is
my pictures or simply pictures---->MY SCANS

After installing the new

- power the printer off and disconnect it from the computer
- power the printer back on
- run an alignment page (make sure that all the colors are present and look good. If all the colors are not present or are poor quality, it may not work until you replace those colors.)
- place alignment page into scanner and scan. Make sure to place the top of the page (leading edge as it came out of the printer) into the scanner first and that it's facing the correct way.
- if that still didn't correct the problem, try flipping the paper to the other side and try again.

Hopefully that should work and you can hook the printer back up to the computer.

I have a hp officejet

Double click the printer icon, your job should be listed. Right click and cancel the job. In come cases you may need to kill the print process. You can do that by rebooting.

MY Officejet HP j3680 will not scan

Thank you for posting to Fixya.com and it is my pleasure to guide you.

Are you trying to start scan on the Printer control panel or from the HP Solution Center on the computer?

Is the paper or document loaded straight in the loader? Besure the paper is pressed firm, not crumbled, against the bottom.

Does the HP Solution Center on the computer fail to start? If it does, restart the software and or the pc and then trying again.

If pressing the printer control panel does nothing, does it give an error message? The manual has Solve printing problems page 116 Maintain and troubleshoot

Are the connections solid from the printer to the pc? USB connection, One computer connected with a USB cable to the rear USB 2.0 high-speed port on the device. Pull out the cable then reinsert it, pressing firmly on the cable on both the printer and pc.

Unplug the electrical cable and then plug it back in to recyle the printer to like new setup.

I have also located manuals for your reference. Click or copy paste the links and save to you computer.

I can't clear the Fax

  1. Press the Setup button (c01361401.gif ).
  2. Press the Right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) until Tools displays on the control panel, and then press OK .
  3. Press the Right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) until Fax Log displays on the control panel, and then press OK .
  4. Press the Right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) until Clear Fax Log displays on the control panel, and then press OK . A message that says the fax memory is clear displays on the control panel.
  5. Press the Cancel button (c01235250.gif ) to exit.

I am using HP Officejet

This could be a faulty cartridge or you may have installed a expired cartridge , try replacing the cartridge with a new one, if that doesnt work, then try a hard reset.

A hard reset = unplug printer from the wall,
press and hold the power button for 45-60 sec then plug back in and turn on.
That should clear the error.

My printer do not print

If the printer does not print, then you need to check somethings step-by-step. First try to update the printer driver. If you still facethe same problem, then open the printer cover and check if there are any smallpieces of paper stuck within the printer, clean the inner parts. Check whetherthe print heads are stuck. Check your ink cartridges, whether they are empty. If theproblem still exists then you may need to perform some reset procedure. 1. Remove the cartridges from the printer then unplug thepower cable from the back of the printer and from the wall jack wait for 30seconds then replug the power cable to the wall out let and then to the printer. 2. Remove the cartridges from the printer then unplug thepower cable from the back of the printer and from the wall jack wait for 30seconds now press and hold the power button on the printer and replug the powercable to the wall out let and then to the printer after the power cable isconnected you can let go off the power button. 3. Remove the cartridges from the printer then unplug thepower cable from the back of the printer and from the wall jack wait for 30seconds now press and hold the # and the number 3 button on the printer andreplug the power cable to the wall out let and then to the printer after thepower cable is connected you can let go off the buttons. Fax has worked for over

Hello.

Some suggestions from HP Support:

Printa fax test to check the setup To test thefax setup from the product control panel, follow these steps. 1. Press the power button (clip_image001.gif ) to turn off the HP fax product. 2. Wait 20 seconds and then press thepower button (clip_image001.gif ) to turn on the HP fax product. 3. Connect one end of a two-wiretelephone cord to the telephone jack and connect the other end of the cord tothe port labeled 1-Line on the back of the HP fax product. 4. Make sure that there is plain whitepaper in the input tray. 5. Press the Setup button (clip_image002.gif ) on the product control panel. 6. Press the right arrow (clip_image003.gif ) to select Tools , and thenpress OK . 7. On the Tools menu, press theright arrow (clip_image003.gif ) to select Run Fax Test ,and then press OK . The fax diagnostic test prints. 8. Review the report. oIf the test lists faxing issues andsolutions, the fax test failed. Follow the steps on the printout totroubleshoot the issue. This report is specific to your product and faxing environment,so use the solutions on the report to resolve the listed faxing issues. Repeatthe fax test after fixing the listed faxing issues to make sure the testpasses. Use the HP Fax Test Service to try to receive a fax. If the HP faxproduct still cannot receive a fax, go to "Solution three: Make sure thatthe Auto Answer feature is turned on." oIf the test does not show faxingissues and solutions, the fax test passed. Continue to the next solution.

Error coming up ink cartridge

Clean the the metal contacts inside the printer that touch the cartridge with some rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip. Let it dry before retrying.

Printer says offline how do

Assuming that you have windows Operating system

1. Click on start go to control panel and under that Printer and other hardware >> you will see an icon of your printer ..right click on it and then click - use printer online

This will help you.

If it does not then check whether the USB cable is properly connected or not, unplug it from the USB port in computer and plug it back in a different one.

If this also does not help you

Then try some other USB cable

My HP J3680 all in

hi there!

the flashing light means theres a problem with the installed cartridge. make sure the cartridges are of the same brand/model (check on the cartridge number on the sticker of the cartridge). shake it away from you too then put it back in, make sure you hear the snap sound meaning its locked into place. ive posted the link for manuals, support aswell if you need it :
