Removing spark module viking gas cooktop

Usually any control knob will activate all four igniters it's usually a faulty pressure switch rather than the igniter pack module.

No clicking noise when I try to light any burner

Hi,Check power to cooktop first to assure it is not the issue. If not the issue, the spark module is the cause of all the burners not working. If only one burners its a burner switch, if more than one burner its the module that needed replaced.I hope this helps. I have a 6 burner range top. When I turn on 5 of

Hi,The problem is the burners switch the the single burners has failed, this will cause is not to fire the module and ignite the burner. I would replace just that burner switch to correct the problem. When you call for parts, make sure you have the complete model number and possible color of that burner switch needed. They make or have available switch that are sold by color, so color may be needed for this model.I hope this helps. Burner will not ignite but

I have had this same issue with continuous sparking after a burner was lit. Problem 1. Wet or dirty ignitors/burners. Solution: clean and/or dry (I assume this resolves electrical issues). This has usually solved the problemProblem 2. Stuck or dirty control switch. Solution: remove knobs and spray electrical-cleaner into switches. AMAZING... no more clicking plus burners now burn hotter when set to HI. I assume this frees-up the movement of the switch to prevent it thinking you are pushing it ON... and thus asking for spark... plus greater range of switch and/or higher flame settings available once lit. A no-cost miracle! ( I used "PureTronics" brand Electrical Contact Cleaner spray can, 1 sec, 2X).Mike S

Viking range - no way to simmer

There is a conversion kit to convert the range from natural gas to propane, it is possible that it was not installed or not installed at the time of purchase. There is a part in the regulator that has to be switched from one gas type to another as well as individual burner orafices that have to be changed. You should have the point of purchase service verify that this has been done correctly. The complete information should be in your owners and installation manual or available directly from the viking website.

Clicking noise won't stop once

Hi

There are a few things to check for: First make sure the electrode (the small metal piece that the spark comes off from) is clean and the holes in the burner are clean, use a pin or paper clip to clean out the burner holes. The next thing to check for are the ignition switches under the surface control knobs, the switches can twist and break and keep the spark module on and the spark keeps "clicking" even when the burner is light. If every thing looks good, you may have a bad spark module which should be replaced as sometimes cleaning can get moisture into the surface switches; try drying them with a hair dryer to see if this will help. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Constant clicking on the burners.

Hi

As you have already tried to clean everything and even the igniter switch and blown warm air using a hair dryer around the shafts where the knobs attach, so it means the issue is either with a bad gas valve or the igniter itself going bad. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Once burner lights the "clicking" of the ignition

The most posible cause is that the ingiter have been mositure probably from a water leak and have be short the wires of the ingiter. Their is a small chance that it will dry by it self and be normal again. If not you can remove the top and reach for the ingiter, is a plastic box with a lot of wires in and out and with hair dryer you can try to dry it. If it still sparking again then you need to replace the igniter

Same thing, can't figure out how to get it apart.

Viking has a "special" (ha,ha) tool that you put across those 2 notches in the center brass ring. You can find this wrench with pics at: allvikingparts.com/BT_SBW_Sealed_Burner_Wrench_s/138.htm
You probably have thrown out many similar looking 'free' wrenches(because we have better ones in our toolbox) that are packaged with kids toys etc. that should do the job.
A hand held steamer has done a pretty good job for me in cleaning the burned on gunk. I have also used my dremel with various different polishing tips when I have been really frustrated with gunk and discoloration.
