Poorly designed filter location (subject to flour dust), easily plugged. No provision for cleaning or user replacement. CCONTACT THE SAME MANUFACTURER again, inform them of your military status and they will make an exception regarding fees, shipping, etc. To replace the board in these is going to cost a lot moer than having the factory replace the unit. Mixer will not run except in brief starts and
I believe you still have the warranty, I know they can replace it to a new one. But if you want to fix it first. There are ways to fix it.
The Kitchenaid Mixer has certain built-in precautions to prevent users from damaging the components inside. When it gets too hot or is assembled improperly, it will not work. Heavy use can also cause the mixer to malfunction. Certain parts of the mixer heat up during use, and may become overheated. Fixing a Kitchenaid Mixer that won't turn on may be a simple procedure, or you may have to send it back to the company's Service Center for repair.
1.Check to make sure the Kitchenaid Mixer is firmly plugged into an outlet and that the cord is not twisted, dented or split.
2.Look at your circuit breaker box in your home to make sure the Kitchenaid Mixer's outlet has power. An alternative is to plug in another appliance and see if it works.
3.Unplug the mixer for 10 to 15 seconds and then plug it back in. If this is unsuccessful, unplug the mixer for 30 minutes to cool it off and then try plugging it back in and using it.
4.Contact a Kitchenaid Service Center if these steps do not work. Call 1-800-541-6390 if you live in the U.S. or Puerto Rico. Canadians residents should dial 1-800-807-6777 and customers in Mexico should call 01-800-024-17-17. The agent on the phone will tell you where you can ship your Kitchenaid Mixer for repair.
