On my ifs40 imperial fryer the pilot knob just spins around and wont send gas up to pilot orifice when i push it in

There is a little tab on the knob that is broken. Replace the knob and the fryer will work. One center screw holds the knob on the valve.

Dial is set to off. Why does main burner still light?

The thermostat could be stuck in the on position . Remove the wires and do a continuity check on the two terminals on the thermostat. Should read open with the thermostat in the off position. Also check that someone has not jumped the two terminals on the gas valve.

Why does pilot go out?

Greg. Either pilot flame needs adjusted, or you have to replace thermocouple. "I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button. Check out some of my other posts if you need more tips and info."

What does the gas adjustment screw look like on a

There is no gas adjustment screw. There is an air ratio adjustment on each burner. Loosen the screw that holds the flame adjuster and turn the stamped metal adjuster until there is no orange portion of the flame visible. Tighten the screw and you're done.

I replaced the thermopile but the pilot still doesn't remain lit. What would you recomend doing next?

with gas and deep fries I would only use the services of an accredited gas fitter to fix the problems That way the job is covered by warranty, the insurance on the place remains intact and there is less chance of an explosion probably work out cheaper in the long run as well as I would not be wasting money on the items that do not need replacing

Imperial ifs40 fryer suiting up.

If you don't know that you are doing you should buy them. You need one for each burner, 3 or 4 for most models. Yes they can be drilled out going only one way, using lettered drill bits that are hard to find. The regulator on the back normally has to be adjusted also. If either is wrong, the flame will be to big or to small to heat correctly. At least buy one orifice and check the size hole, they are not expensive $5 -$10 if you do a little searching for a good price. The Part Numbers are:Orifice - NAT. Gas 1625-36Orifice - L.P. Gas 1625-51You MUST use Lettered drill bits for size, Like A-Z If it was drilled with any normal size bits 1/16 type bits it will NOT be correct! There should be a number stamped on the orifice, unless it was drilled out. Most people never mark the door that the gas type was changed, causes all types of problems for the service men.Can you give more details to your problems? I couldn't find the hole sizes right off, but have seen it listed.

My lpg fryer IFS40 burns yellow flame and on the recent inspection tech supposedly found corroded heat exchanger. The fryer is only half a year old and still under warranty but the imperial only offer

The heat exchanger might be a result of the yellow flame but not the cause of it burning yellow. I would guess it is the amount of air being mixed with the gas. Most burners have a slotted metal air mixture ring on the front of the burner near the brass orfice, you are calling a jet. There is a locking screw to release the ring so it can turn to adjust the amount of air being mixed with the gas. If this doesn't fix the yellow flame it could be a gas pressure problem that could be the external regular in the gas line. Not sure if you are talking about the pilot flame or the burner flame or both? A tech should know how to adjust the air mixture.

Why is my Pitco 65c+ is burning yellow

Could also be the amount of air getting into each burner. There should be a metal ring with holes on the front of each burner. There should be a set screw to keep it from turning by it self. Loosen the screw and turn the ring until the flame burns better and tighten the screw back again. If the orfice is the wrong size for the gas you have, it might be able to be drilled out or needs replaced if it needs to be smaller. You will need the manual to find out the correct size orfice, it will be a letter size of a drill bit, some what hard to find.

What is causing my imperial fryer to burn my fries when the thermostat se at 300 this wasb not happening before

Sounds like your thermostat is not calibrated properly. this is a job for a pro. If you don't do this correctly the grease temps can rise above safe levels and cause the high limit to open.

Have you had any recalls on this product?

Hi there. If the bubbles come up after loading products on fryer, check the product load quantity and reduce as needed so oil will not overflow. Bubbles came from the water content of the product; more water inside the product, the more bubbles it will produce during cooking so it it better to check the loading quantity. Regards.

Black soot

Soot is caused by a few things in gas appliances. Propane even more so. Lack of combustion air is usually the culprit. In propane fired equipment orifice alignment, high pressure or the wrong burner orifice can cause yellow flames the result in soot build up. You need to find the culprit. Best to have a service tech check it out and clean it. when you know what to look for it can be easily fixed.

Valentine Pension 1-83. The fryer heats the oil and then the switch on electric board trips? Please help

Hi there! Check the rating of the electrical circuit breaker where the unit is tapped, it must be at least 25 % higher than the unit' s current rating on nameplate to avoid tripping. If hi-limit of the unit trips after reaching temperature setting, try lowering the set point; hi-limits are designed to trip off at 450F for safety. Or it may be faulty causing premature or early trip off temperature. Regards.
