HP Pavilion Media Center TV Desktop with AMD Phenom Processor 9500 Questions & Answers
HP pavilion desktop only has built in RJ45 connector--problem?
If you have built in 10/100 RJ45 then any network connection is possible.
One to one, you can connect to any built in 10/100 RJ45 equipped computer with a 'cross-over' network cable.
More commonly you can connect to a 'router' which allows a number of computers to connect to each other and to the internet . Use a search engine to find net setup on the 'web.
This is a very large subject so you need to decide what you want to do first!

Something's gliched, and the only thing I can think of is to run 'msconfig' and remove the PA from the startup programs.
DVD burnne will not burn data files
This could be for numerous reasons
1. the disc is not compatable with your drive ie its a cheap branded one so get a decent branded spindle of discs ie TDK or tayo yuden or the likes
2. The disc is blank
3. Is this only with blank dvds ( dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd-rw, dvd+rw ) ?
4, can you play or read normal cd's just not dvd's ?
I had a similiar problem when my old dvd rom drive was getting old and sometimes it would work and others it wouldnt the only other thing I can think of is to ensure the chipset drivers ie the IDE / sata drivers are up to date and also are there any firmware updates for the dvd drive ?
Also ensure if there are any jumper pins ensure they are set correctly and that the data cable and power cables are seated firmly as per the other suggestion.
WIth the prices of dvd drives now it would be easier to buy a new one and replace it.
Hp media centre m1180n wont power up after power cut
most likely it was the psu. You can actually test it yourself by buying a psu tester made by Antec that you should be able to buy in stores. It's a cheaper alternative to buying a PSU and just hoping that was the problem.
Games work slow
Hi, You said ALL your games are choppy ....Conan is a demanding game ..
Example:
I have seen it run on a MSI board with 2 Gs of PC6400 (800mhz) / AM2 4800 X2 (2.5Ghz) with an AGP!!! GS7800 Nvidea video card (which was a good card in its day...42Ghz bandwidth) ...it ran at about 30fps on Medium settings which is livable???...
The first thing to do is to make sure you have all the latest drivers for your Motherboard from HP (made by Asus for HP )
also make sure Windows OS it self is all up to date ....
The video card is 8800 Nvidea ? which one?
Go to the Nvidea and get the lastest drivers for it ...this is MOST IMPORTANT ...
You also have onboard Graphics card 6150 ...go to Device Manager and see what is listed....To access Device Manger Go to ....Start>Control panel > Systems ( maintenance) and select Device Manager....click the + sign next to Display adapters and if the (6150 onboard graphics adapter) is listed with the 8800 right click on the "6150 " choose Properties and make sure it says..... ( do not use (disable) under .".Device usage."....
....Apparently these can run concurrently
HP says PC6400 Ram (800 mhz) will run on this board.....a PRICEY option of course
NOTE: All RAM isn't created equal it is best to use a Quality RAM from the SAME manufacturer //try not to mix n match
Lastly there's the Power Supply ...the new Video card will draw more power ....a good 500 plus watt PS with good Amps well
across the Voltage rails 3/5/12 .....25A plus is a good target
Again more money :)
Also turn OFF Programs while gaming I do no matter how fast the Rig is .... ie Antivirus...etc..... every little bit helps
Do the Driver updates and see what happens ...Good Luck
New games dont work well
This combo should play games no problem ....more specs please...like what Motherboard /ram speed and such
Having problem with new games
What is the Name and model number of your motherboard
The nforce 430 is an older chipset model and may not use the full capacity of the Phenom processor ...some boards won't even boot and there are Bios updates available for others ...etc
The onboard graphics (geforce 6150 se) is negated by the 8800 GTX ...good card......the problem isn't your video card
Your also running PC5300 ,,667mhz ram ....if board is capable of PC6400 ...800mhz ....there could be another speedup
The bottlenck seems to be with the board and possibly Ram
(Again MB model and name)
Also make sure you have all the latest drivers for Vcards ...chipsets BIOS etc......
Removing virtual drive
It depends what program you used to add it in the first place. Open the software and look for settings, or just uninstall it.

What does a HP laptop notebook with model number A6Y530A look like
learn to google mate.
this is no secret, gee millions sold.
A6Y530A
the partsurfer shows true model, and fails
this is the only post here ever asking for reverse code lookups
on models fake, and is not easy in vast cases
I guess you have no such PC, (look like)
so why ask this>? what prompted this quest>? not told
why not ask seller for photos of it if this is a pre sales question , is it>?
google and bing and HP all show that model # is BOGUS
so go back to your sell and ask the we can not guess PCs ever.
HP product ID# is best on the service tag for SURE.
where did you see this number, not told.
or that number is some 20+ year old COMPAQ PC ,lost in the sands of time, and no google hits.
you posted to HP forum, (not real) Hp.com is real
Hp pavilion g series manual
what does not working mean (KBD) dead, or 1 key bad or row. what?
symptoms matter most, for sure in a LAPTOP IS IT
the word Pavilion is on laptops and desktop, dig?
G mean zero , the service tag does not just say "G" sorry.
easy peasy lemon squeezy
HP.com
complex URL no?
go there
tell them your model # or better the service tag code ! .
then magically HP puts you on YOUR service support page
and all manuals and all driver before your eyes. amazing no?
NO told at all
or of a laptop or desktop or what./?
you posted ANON so I can't just read other posts by you to learn what PC this is , no I can not.
there are over 100 PC called G series, and vast years.
some PCs by them G1 to 7 are generations, like
HP Pavilion g6-1029tx Notebook.
if you can find the service tag the product ID # is what matters most
this code includes (real model, version , options and country sold)
see this, older PCs by them had this.
see that , all matters but do not post SN/ or service codes in public.
mine: procuct code (nnnnnnABA#)
https://www.pcdied.com/TAG-jive/tag-elite8540w.JPG
I will guess it is 17" laptop, here is the mess just that 1 sized
once you see this you know that G series means not MUCH>

The airplane mode button is stuck on orange although my computer say's airplane mode off
old PCs do that, for many reasons. but no PC told at all just HP.
40 years of PCs ,10000 + models nobody can guess ever.
but I do have the answer, in pure generic form.
did you buy the PC like that used and bad Wifi. ?
- the wifi card is missing, as was super common 10+ years ago.
- someone put in the wrong card, not from HP list
- HP blacklists (bios blocks) none HP cards (wifi)
- the card needs a driver to work if not it is dead or 1/2 dead.
- the PC needs 1 more driver to make the wifi buttons all work , all buttons related, if not they are dead or act odd.
- The OS is infected, no OS told at all, not one clue nor if upgraded the OS, and not vast drivers are wrong or missing, (classic)
Im sure this this is not the free w10 upgrade, if it was that too kills drivers dead, for sure HP told you this unstated PC will not run W10 and has zero support from HP, on w10 AS YOUR SUPPORT PAGE WILL DISCLOSE TO YOU AT HP.COM
How reinstall bios on a HP dv9000
bad news now your bricked it just like miillions did
google bios update bricked my PC and cry.
why are you here and not at HP.com
only they can recover bios.
they changed the rules now 10 time.
so only they know this, and are pain to deal with.
UEFI is the enemy here, new rule and regressive as can be.
in fact all new PCs can not be regressed, and some old now
they even delete the 20 version of bios there, to force that.
not saying they did that to your PC, but keep that in your head on all HP PC.
the last bios upgrade stated, no going back.
the Cntrl_+B might work , the flashback bios trick\
in your manual if you read it.
