Brother MFC-9440CN Laser Printer Questions & Answers
How do i reset my toner it's not out of toner
Hello Thewwrental,
From the image I assume you are using a MFC-9440CN, 9450CDN or a MFC9840CDW.
In any of these cases, you can reset the toner cartridge by opening the fron cover and pressing the "clear/back" button.
You will be asked to select which cartridge you want to reset.
This will not work if the toner cartridge is actually empty.
Keep in mind that if one or more of the color toners are empty, you can still print in black and white by switching the drivers to mono.
Thanks,
Pat

Replace drum, still says replace the drum and now it won't print.
Did you reset the drum counter?
When you
replace the drum unit with a new one, you need to reset the drum unit
counter by completing the following steps:
- Turn the the machine’s power switch back on.
- Press Menu => Machine Info.
=> Reset Menu.
- Press the Up or Down Arrow
key to choose Drum.
- Press OK.
- Press 1 to reset the drum unit counter.
- Press Stop/Exit.
I hope this helps.

(if you did the reset, you may need to talk to Brother Support. I'm assuming you used a Brother drum and only handled it by the handles.)

My printer Brother MFC-9440CN is unable to print.
Hi there !
I am here to help you to solve your problem.
I believe your print spooler service stop running or your spooler is confused pending some queue at the print spooler service.
To resolve this, follow this procedures.
Go to START MENU
Choose RUN (For Windows XP) or Choose Commamd prompt, right click mouse and run as administrator ( For Window vista and windows 7)
Type the letter "cmd"
Type the word "net stop spooler"
Exit
Go to C: drive
Choose to Windows Folder
Click show content
Choose system32 folder
Choose spool folder
Choose printer
And delete all printing jobs pending
Again go back to CMD window and type the word "net start spooler"
Restart your computer and must also turn off your printer and then switch it on.
It will work fine right now
I hope it helps you

MFC-9440 CN Laser Printer is producing vertical color line streak
Colored vertical streaks - looks like a transfer belt problem, and it's not user fixable. You may need a new belt unit - you can find it for around US$ 80-120, but you may want to have a technician inspect the unit first, since it could arguably be the drum instead, and you don't want to fork around US$ 100 and replace the wrong part.
You can try showing a printer sample at a print shop; by looking at the streaks it is possible to diagnose drum, fuser or belt problems.
Here you find a much more detailed page, for another printer model, but the issues are mainly the same for most color printers:
