If the temperature of food rises to an unsafe level, the buzzer will sound and the red light, if equipped, will also glow. First, deactivate the alarm to your appliance by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker. Wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on your freezer. After deactivating the alarm and your freezer has run approximately four hours, the red light/alarm should go off on its own. If the red light/alarm continues to stay on, your freezer may possibly have a communication problem with the control board, temperature control or a wiring harness. If this is the case, I would recommend connecting with an experienced technician to determine the underlying cause.

Normally, laying a refrigerator down will cause any debris or sediment to float through the tubing and eventually end up in the filter drier which contains silica beads to absorb moisture. Debris will then plug up the drier. A technician will be required to evacuate the sealed system. He will then cut out the old drier and braze in a new drier and recharge the system. There is usually no guarantee that this will fix it because if the debris is large, it may clog a capillary tube and render the unit un-repairable. freezer was working fine had to unplug it due to evacuation, now it doesn't freeze, is there any reset buttons? i didn't turn the temp selector to the off position before unplugging

Try turning off the temp. switch off.
Then plug it in and turn the temp on!
this may reset it.
Repeat one more time and let me know ho it went!


How old is the appliance?
If the appliance is 10 years old or more you may not be advisable to put good money into bad!
New appliances are so much more efficient today that they can save you a lot of money in energy!!!!
You need a hands on tech for this repair!

I had this same issue and all repair service could do is stop beeping. Finally I sold my refrigerator for cheap and got a new one.If you don't have the proper equipment to adjust door and seals. better call a repair service and hope they in your case, should help.

Hello Rebecca - The styrofoam and wooden pallet attached to the bottom is part of the shipping material and it is recommended to be removed. If you decide to leave it attached it should not cause any damage, however keep in mind that it might trap moisture under the unit and cause corrosion.

Hello friend, thanks for your post! I see that your Frigidaire freezer had a power surge and you're asking what could happen. If your appliance had a power surge it could cause an issue within the board or wiring harnesses. Is your appliance giving any error code or beeping? Is your freezer showing error code OFF? If so, the temperature control is in the OFF position. When this occurs the temperature control turns off the compressor, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb or other electronics. Let's try activating your freezer by pressing the UP arrow until display shows "4" or desired setting. Please allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize. For future reference you can lock the control to keep from accidently changing the temperature setting. I hope these troubleshooting tips help you in some small way. From what you have described it sounds like the compressor is cycling on when cooling is necessary and cycles off when the temperature inside your freezer has reached the set temperature. This is normal. If you feel that there may be some other issue occurring, feel free to go to the manufacturer website where you can easily locate a service provider in your area.

The motor not always a sound and if they do run constantly you will have a fire on your hands. Open the door for 45 seconds and then close it .uu will find the motor kicks in and runs for 1 min to 3 minutes.

Check your door/'s are sealing if they leak u will get freezing occurring in the bottom and around the door will have allot of condensation. good luck all the best . P's always lay liquid bottle on their side as they will cool quicker and be better on electricity.

My green light stays on all the time unless I open the door and it needs to get back down to temperature. The red light will come on then and return to normal after 30 seconds to a few minutes if on a hot day. Good luck hope I could help

January 2001 and july 2003 is when it was sold between. Some new old stock is still getting around. Shocking model for faults . But most were easy fix

3 seconds or as long as it takes to get back to temperature.

Good Afternoon Friend, I understand that you want to know if the green light has to be on at all times and the temperature set to normal on your Frigidaire freezer, model# FFU2124D. The green light will always be on. This is letting you know that there is power going to your freezer. You do not have to leave to temperatures set on normal. You are able to choose any temperature that works for you and keeps your food frozen. When changing temperature settings, turn the knob slightly in the direction you want, and wait 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize.
