Frigidaire GSTF1670A Front Load Washer Questions & Answers
Model fwt645rhso will agitate but
There's an auxiliary switch in the door lock.switch assembly that is activated at the end of the wash cycle for the machine to advance to the spin cycle. The machine will NEVER advance to the spin cycle unless the auxiliary switch is activated as a safety feature to prevent the door from opening during a high-speed spin cycle that may result in physical injury. The drum tumbles back and forth while the machine control checks the auxiliary if activated but since it's not, the control will not command the motor speed control to spin the drum at high speed. These symptoms may indicate a faulty door lock/switch assembly and may need replacement. Click on the links below for the detailed troubleshooting instructions and
replacement of the door lock/switch assembly.

My front load washer shakes and i think the timer is gone.
Hi,
What i could advise you, if you have the Same Model, you could swap the parts. But, here is a Catch. The reason for Vibrations could be many. If the Vibration is due to Unbalanced Floor, Clothes.
The most probable reason On these Models are :-
Please make sure that all three springs that hold the tub in place at the bottom are OK. If the entire wash basket/tub assembly appear to be grossly off center with reference to the bottom frame panel and you are sure the machine is level, one of the springs could have broken, especially where the bottom of the sporing connects to the bottom panel. There are sometimes plastic bushings on the bottom of the springs that break and keep the spring hook from staying on the panel where it should be. You will also notice that the springs can be moved to different holes on the bottom panel to provide more or less tension independently to correct the offset somewhat.
All the new machine do vibrate as the manufacturer prefer light bodies as they are less expensive and easy to carry.
So, what i could advise you, call a Repairman. Ask for the Quote and then you could swap the timer from other machine.
Note - As we Discuss, there could be many reasons for vibrations. It could be Center Tub is Worn or so on. So, repair usually cost $400 in that case, including the part. As you have the Same washer, you could check how much they charge depending on location as well as the problem.
I could comment, if even after swapping the parts, if the repair cost you more than 40% of the amount of the new one. Go for new washer.
Let me know, if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
PS - Do Accept the Solution, if Satisfied with my response!!
I fill the fabric softener container to the line,
That's all quite good news.
The way it works is that when conditioner is required, the machine tops the container up with water to a level much higher than the line. There's a siphon built in to the container, and once the liquid hits the new level, this is enough to start the siphon working. Once started, the siphon continues until the container is empty.
The siphon is usually formed in two parts. The first is a tube moulded into the container (look at the underside for the outlet hole - the tube is an extension of this poking up into the container.
The other part is a cap which goes over the end of the tube. This may either be a little hat that just sits over the tube end, or part of a much larger cover going over a large part of the container. Either way, your solution is to pull this cap off (it will be designed to pull off!), clean it out thoroughly (especially where it covers the tube), clean any gunge out of the tube itself - then put it all back together again and watch it working.

WASHER WONT DRAIN
Take off the lower panel ( 2 screws on bottom) pullout and down to remove. Make sure unit is unplugged pump is on the right hand side one hose coming from bottom of tub and the other goes out the back to the drain. Take off the hose from the bottom of the tub and be ready to catch alll the water in the tub suggest you use shop vac and remove all water first. look in the impellar in pump should be a clog right there then put everything back the way you toook it off and be careful to get the hose back on the way you took it off there is a slot in the hose and a tab on the pump for alignment.
WONT DRAIN
clean the pump and also make sure that the pump motor is powered during draining
Something rolling inside the Drum
The rear half of the outer tub, with bearing is part #
131525500 and it looks like the back "spider" shaft is not available as a separate part from the inner drum. The "spider" shaft is most likely worn or damaged and in need of replacement also.
131618500
Then, there's that strut
134564200
Now, two pain in the back side hours of your labor and you've got your washer back, at more than what a new one would cost! Junk it and get a new larger capacity front loader.
Please don't rate this, as anything but the top rating will lower my score. I'm just giving you my honest opinion, that your machine is not economical to repair. I've owned a LG front loader for over 6 years and think they are the best, but there are other good front loaders out there also.
Frigidaire FWT647GHS0 Front Load

Washer will not agitate but will spin
It sounds like the plastic inside the agitator cog are worn. The smell is the plastic cog turning but the agitator not turning.
Take off the top
of the agitator. If any screw are available remove them. If not grab
the agitator from the bottom and yank off. Unscrew the agitator drive
cog and inspect underside of agitator. Go to an appliance repair shop
and reorder a new one. Between $15-30.
