hi, In modern TVs Blinking of power Light shows the internal fault. Its a diagnosing program to identify which portion of the circuitry is faulty. You didnt mentioned how many times the the light blinks. To give you a good solution its to be known. Also try to add the model number of the TV. Sounds like a main board issue--set has a board that controls all info and communication inside the set===faintly possible are also if this is on only part of the screen other boards but main sounds like your problem---All the digital processing for the set including what is on the screen is found there.It might be helpful to do some research via Google====one place I like to look for info and parts info is shopjimmy.com===if this set by model number is there they will have a list of the boards and prices also----Also Google the model number with "problems" to see what is out there.

Not all remotes if even program will have the features you want--likely this is the case here--its code allows some operation but not all.

I would here think it is possible you are seeing the display panel itself beginning to fail--if correct I would replace the set as the panel is more than a new set by a large amount.
