Turn tv on manually.Test the remote control all functions are dead or some functions work other don't?Tries take the remote control parts and clean the inner rubbers buttons between the rubbers insulater and the remote circuitries board and the battery connections + - connections with some rubbing alchahol.Then wait awhile like 20 mins and putting it back together again and putting in new battery in the remote,it might work again.If getting the same result than the remote CPU chip is probally dead,remote control devices are very depended on it CPU chip.Try website like Remotes.com to buy an original remote for the replacement.

Thats usually caused by the Tcon board. You can get the replacement inverter board from www.tvcircuitboards.com

more likely a issue that is not the set but the signal.

Sounds like a main board that controls everything on the screen and then some.Since a LCD do the flashlight test (what I call it) : darken the room as much as possible and with a flashlight and the set on look closely at the screen, see a very very faint image of the picture or not?

May I ask the model # ? If it is a VW42LHDTV10A, the problems is caused by faulty capacitors on both inverter boards.

if you used any cleaner with chemicals in it that would leave streaks that cannot be removed, clue to this would be with set off you should be able if that happened to see it on the screen with the set off.Otherwise there are a lot of things that can and do go wrong--a suggestion= you can post a video question here, take a video and upload it along with the brand and model number of the set in the text part of the question and post it in Flat Panel TV sets--if you want you can in the title also mark it Attention SD tech which is my user name here--if I see it (I do not miss too many) with the video I will at least be able to see what you have and make a suggestion on this problem.this video feature is new here on Fixya so be patient.SD TECH

Its usually an issue in the power supply, Google the model number with "problems" to see if it is a known issue in your set.
