Check and replace the back-light inverter board.

Hey Josh,If this set is under warranty return it immediately. You could be looking at either a faulty LCD panel connection or a faulty LCD panel.

change the batteries. look at remove via cell phone to see the IR light is even Blinking.

T-con board takes the serial video data from the main board and converts it to a format that the LCD panel will understand. The T-con also supplies power to the panel.

OK so take the back and the stand off the TV about 30 screws... when you look at the insides there will be 2 larger circuit boards in the middle of the TV and one small one on the top of the TV pay those three boards no mind at all.. look to the right and left there will be one on each side of the TV covered with some medal shields remove the shields extract the board look at the 2 big capacitors laying on their side inspect the top there is a factory score mark that will have black residue leaking if this is what you see, go to radio shack bring one of the capacitors in with you and get 4 new ones replace both caps side by side on each of the side panels install the boards and shields replace the back and stand turn on and enjoy... don't replace the whole panels the parts are only $1.60 each you can handle the soldering i know you can so TV fixed for a hour of your time and under $10.00.... It sounds that the back-light CCFL lamp is faulty. It is time to replace it. When replacing, do it to all CCFLs, because, the life time to these lams are expiring now, as the set is nearly 4 years old.
