My Sony Bravia KDL40HX800 led
If you already name the subtitle file (.srt) with the same name of movie file (avi, mpeg, mkv etc) all you have to do is press green button on the remote control the turn on/off the subtitle. It works for me.
Digital channels are not being saved during auto program.
Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go.

To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. It's a connection inside the TV that's faulty. It could be as simple as reseating the ribbon cables that connect the control board to the glass display. Or it could be that the fault is on the board and needs to be replaced. The fact that the problem comes and goes should tell you it's fixable.
Connection help with receiver and lcd TV
depend on what you wants to do. if you wan to get sound from your tv on receiver connect out from tv to in on receiver if U have optical out from tv send this to optical input on your receiver and set up your receiver to impute to digital HDMI carrie sound and video...
(My Denon receiver set-up shows an HDMI cable going from the Video Out on the TV to the HDMI MONITOR OUT on the receiver)
OUT TO OUT don't make sense ...could be out to impute you may have HDMI going from receiver to TV and other HDMI imputs on receiver to use receiver as distribution unit say you have satellite HDMI, DVD HDMI, Computers HDMI IMPUTE all of this connected to your Receiver and the HDMI monitor out from your receiver connected to TV so now you may select any of this sources to wach In your TV and lessen trough receiver speakers

Sony KDL-40V3000 standby blinks 13 times.
A service technician arrived at my home this morning and infromed me that 13 blinks indicates a bad LCD panel. His quote to repair it was approximately $500 more than the TV initially cost. I contacted Sony support directly, and they have agreed to replace the TV, since it is less than 30 days out of warranty. The KDL40V3000 has apparently been dicontinued so they are replacing with a KDL40V4100(factory reconditioned). I know this won't necessarily help others with the same problem, but if your warranty ended recently enough they will probably work with you to mitigate the expense.
I recently got home from festival and powered on
Take a look for bad capacitors, but it's much more likely that there's a cold solder joint somewhere.
I'd start with the power supply circuit (be careful, discharge all large caps first) and just retouchup all the solder connections on the larger components and cables (ie, stay away from the tiny surface mount stuff)
Of course I am assuming here that you know how to solder in the first place.
If you don't you will probably have to take the unit in for repair.
Cannot fill screen with normal picture size setting
assuming you all have comcast and using an hdmi cable
first access menu (hit it twice) and go to set picture format, choose passthrough....or in your case auto hdmi
then turn box off, press guide and info on the front of the box, proceed through the setup, advanced is more in depth..lol...
select 1080, 720, and then either the standard or widescreen 480s to your liking.....
voila....
now check your tv settings to accommodate
