Mitsubishi WD-57833 57" HDTV Questions & Answers
Turns off shortly after turn on
try blowing out the set and especially the three fans and the area around them---seen a number of these where a dirty fan will slow down just a little and even stop set from coming on at all or shutting down sometimes. We usually roll them outside and with a aircompressor clean the set out, it usually looks like a dust storm.I have had more than a few brought in that would not power up and as soon as cleaned outside, came up and worked. The actual air intakes are on the front of the set and dust gets sucked into the unit.

I'm only getting white screen with black,
You'll need to check all the connectors that you unplugged, make sure they are plugged in to the correct place, plugged in well and no pins bent over etc, Probably should also check any connectors that you did not have to unplug just to make sure they didn't get pulled while you were getting to the color wheel.
Reset lamp timer
I don't think that model has that but if it does it will be in the owner manual, what is the issue with the set.

Some of these if they have a photo slot or card sd slot on front you can get a update card from Mitsubishi---with set off insert the card and turn set on---a good idea is to go into the menu and write down the software version currently in the set---Note: if no problems do not try this--do not update for the sake of just updating---seen some problems when this is done.
Off/on,vol.up/dn,audio,video,mute buttons on
Since the buttons are fine it is definitely a problem with the main board(digital main). The problem is associated with logic control circuitry malfunction which is causing it to send commands to the microprocessor at will. The part is a large board, which is located near the board with all the inputs and has lots of ICs including the microprocessor. I have found a part but just make sure that the part number(934C265001) matches with the one in your set(the number will be printed on the board) before you order. It costs 357$ but they will return you 208$ if you ship them you faulty board, which works out to 148$

I purchased the TV Nov. 13, 2006. Lamp burnt out
Actually it seems that the defective part on your TV is not the Bulb.
It's going to be the ballast. This is the board in charge of sending all the energy to the lamp so it can light up.
http://www.discount-merchant.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=mitsubishi+ballast/?Click=48427 It's no an expensive board, actually they're running between 60 and 80 dlls.
My tv blinks 6x red and 1x yellow. whats that mean?
Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, or the LED light stationery; the main board is faulty.
