Empty cartridge light keeps flashing
These cartridges don't have anything internally to check for new ink. They simply work on a basis of counting pages and page coverage to estimate ink levels. As such it is perfectly normal for your printer to warn of low ink once the cartridge has been refilled.A low ink warning in itself should not stop your printer from printing though. If it does it is likely that the light is actually indicating a problem recognising the cartridge after refilling. I would recommend cleaning the copper contacts on the front of the cartridge and checking for any messages on the connected PC or laptop for more information.
Nothing happening
Have you installed all your drivers even if you have go to the HP website and check for updated drivers make sure you have selected the printer as your default printer in Devices and Printers.
Mac not printing to HP Deskjet F2200 series
1) First let's make sure the hardware is working. Place a document face down on the scanner glass. Press Start Copy Black. Did it scan and print?
If not, please let us know.
If it did, go to the next step.
2) Please confirm the USB cable is plugged firmly into the back of the printer and to the computer. Do not go through a hub, switch, or router.
3) Click on your Apple icon (upper left corner), System Preferences, Print and fax.
Do you have the F2210 printer listed more than once?
I am going to suggest removing the F series printer. Highlight it and press the minus button to delete. Once you have removed it, close all windows back to the desktop.
On the computer click on Hard Drive > Applications > Hewlett-Packard > Device Utilities > HP Setup Assistant. Follow the on screen directions to add the printer back to computer. Do not re-register the printer (choose skip or register later). Once your are able to click finish, try printing again.
I would suggest trying to print from Text Edit first. This will rule out any possible issues with the Word document you were trying to print. Click on Hard Drive > Applications > Text Edit. Type your name in the untitled screen. Click on File > Print. Make sure the F2200 series printer is selected. Click Print. Did it print?

You not have to have a disk, but you have to have a driver for it to work.
I have put the software driver for you on my website you can download it from there all you go to do is click on the link I put for you, it may take time to download for you depending on the speed of your internet all the best.

12/5/2011Simply turn your computer off.Then pull out printer cable connected to your computer/laptop.Then turn your printer off.Turn your computer back on.Then connect printer cable to your computer/laptop.Turn your printer on.Check your printer device - should say "Ready."Works like a charm! \ (^ ^) /
