You need to wait the setup some more time,VAIO laptop has the same issue,you just need to wait the auto setup.

My Aspire 5100 not only looses the cdrom but also the hard drive! It sometimes beeps 3 times.. I'd go into set-up (BIOS) and niether the hard drive or dvd would be listed.. As a last resort, I flashed the motherboard bios with the latest version from Acer and so far the problem hasn't returned. I also set the laptop to hibernate after 30 minutes of non use when both on battery or on ac power. Reason? My problem always started when I left my laptop unattended for some time. When I'd return, the computer would be off.. not asleep or hibernating, but off - even though it was set to never turn off in the power settings in windows. When I'd turn it back on, that is when the hard drive and dvd rom would vanish in the BIOS. So as an added precaution, I set the laptop to always hibernate after 30 minutes.. Like I say, so far so good..

White scribbles, huh? No text or error codes at all?

It might be an overheating issue. That's a common problem with that system. Try putting a couple of coasters or something underneath it and make sure the battery pack and fan areas can breathe. Also, when it shuts down on its own, is it sitting on a couch or somewhere that breathability might be an issue?

I don't know the make/model of the printer, but I can mention a few possibilities.

1) If your printer is set for PostScript (PS) language, versus PCL , it normally takes longer to print.

2) If this printer is fairly new, check for old Printers installed that are no longer connected to the computer/network. See if there are still print jobs in the queues. A missing printer with jobs still in queue will keep polling the system and eating up processing time.

3) If this printer is a laser printer, it may have to wake-up and warm-up before printing.

YOu can always use higher amps when required but not lower than required. Voltage should stay the same as original charger - keep it in mind.

It sounds like your hard drive crashed. When a hard drive fails many times you can hear it clicking. You will need a replacement drive.

Alright 1) Turn your laptop off, connect the cables to your external monitor such as a t.v, monitor screen, through your apropriate source such as HDMI, VGA, or S-vdieo which ever one you are connecting it to. Turn your external Monitor on, and if it is a t.v make sure it's the the correct input otherwise it won't work. Then Turn your computer on, once your computer is in the Operating system and completly loaded, Then you want to press the FN button + the F5 button to swtich your display from your laptop to your external screen. There is a little Icon that appears on the screen that lets you know that it is switching either it's duplicating, to your external monitor only or back to your laptop screen, your screen may go blank for a second once your made your choise. Then you should be god to go.
2) If it doesnt work, you might want to try loading your computer first and then plugging in the cables and turning your tv on.
3) If that doesn't work, then maybe your FN button is disabled, and you need to enable it in acer windows mobility aplication. If you have question let me know.

The Acer laptops usually have a light next to the wireless switch from where you turn it on (next to the sound connections on the front). When wireless is on, the yellow light blinks every few seconds. Also in network connections you can see if wireless is connected (in Start, Run type NCPA.cpl and it will bring up the network connections).

If you connect the external monitor & nothing is displayed on it, then this means that both the backlight lamp & the inverter board are fine. The main indicators in these cases are the sound, and the hard drive LED on the laptop's case. If the laptop sounds just like it always does for a minute or two after being turned on, it means it's going ahead and booting the operating system, but the video processor or part of the motherboard circuit for video output has failed. If the laptop just sits there and beeps when you turn it on, or if you hear the fan but not the hard drive chuckling with its active LED flashing away, it means the laptop isn't getting as far as trying to boot the operating system. While this could be due to any number of hardware problems, the most common and easiest to troubleshoot or repair is RAM failure. If your laptop has two RAM modules installed, try booting with just one and then the other in the primary slot. If your laptop only has one RAM module, you might consider buying one online from a site with a good memory selector, like Crucial.com.

Please reinstall your touch pad drivers called synaptics on your laptop.
I think that your touch pad drivers are corrupted and gone bad.
