Blinking orange lamp light

if the lamp light is flashing and the tv won't come on you need to replace the lamp. check your owners manual for how to do it or call mitsubishi customer service

Is your remote control possibly bad? Is it set to other than TV mode? Batteries? Nothing to do with lamp, but TV must turn all the way on for remote to operate anything besides power on/off. --Remote is a function of TV microprocessor.

Why is there no response to remote?

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
