How do I know if the ink cartridge is empty, or if
Usually, if the ink cart is empty, a notification will pop out on your screen. And you can also check it by going to the printers program which is installed in your computer. The status of the cart is also shown in the document print settings. And the most visible indication that you are running out of printer is by checking the lights on the printer itself. If you see the tear-drop like light blinking orange or red, it means that ink is running out.
If its blurry, yes there are things you can do with it. First, do a print head cleaning. Most of the printers have this Maintenance tool for such things. If that doesn't work still, try to locate the print head and dab a soft tipped thing, an earbud will do, with water.
Most basic thing you can do is try to get the cartridge out of the printer and then shake it.
