The printer is saying error code 3501

error 3501 is for the front access door open and you will get that msg number of times you open the front access door and dont worry about that error......if the printer is printing dull colours then try and clean the print head from the menu or from the home center clicking on the question mark in the top right and click on maintenance and then click on clean print head.....if you still have the same issue it could be a refilled ink or non kodak ink that you are using....if the ink is genuine kodak ink then contact kodak tech support as print head needs replacement.....let me know if this was helpful

ES 5300 only prints left side

From the program you print the document (MS Word, Acrobat Reader or another one?) go to File and select the Print... or Print Properties option (depending on what program you print from). Then, go through the option and look for an option that says something like "Print Odd Pages" or Print Even Pages". As you're describing the situation, it seems that either the program you use, or the printer control panel, is set to print only odd or only even pages. So you'll need to find this setting and switch to Print All Pages or something along those lines. The labels and wording of these settings depend on the program you want to print from, so expect that you'll need some looking around to do before you find this setting.

You need Adobe Reader to view or print this document. It can be freely downloaded (and used) directly from Adobe's site.

Good luck! Please rate my reply - thanks.

I am trying to print

spacey49442,

It could be a corrupt file and certainly would not cause any problems to download and install the newest driver from the Kodak website. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r6370947-install_printer_without_install_cd which will walk you through the process. The newest driver may have some features you do not have now.

If this does not solve your problem I would change the cartridge with a new unit. If you have been printing for several days the ink cartridge could be empty or the heads could be plugged. Ink cartridges do not last very long when printing pictures due to the high resolution used. This uses up the ink at a high rate. Also if you think about it, pictures have ink across the entire page, unlike a word document which only has a small amount of type.

Thanks for using FixYa and the great rating.

How can i prevent paper jams

ø Remove printer paper from its original packaging. Insert all unused paper into a large, resealable bag. Store the bag with the unused paper on a hard, flat surface away from extremes of heat and humidity to prevent curling, bending, ripping and wrinkles which can cause paper jams.

?? Remove only the amount of paper you need for a particular job from the resealable bag. Tap the paper stack on a hard flat surface to align the edges. Check the paper for rips, curls, wrinkles or bent edges. Remove and discard any unsatisfactory pages.

?? Insure all paper in the stack is the same size and type. Insure only paper types recommended for the HP All-in-One printer is being used. Recommended paper types can be found online at www.hp.com/support/inkjet_media.

?? Insure the HP Officejet All-in-one printer is not currently servicing a print job. Remove any original papers from the copier glass.

?? Insert the stack of paper into the input tray, short edge forward. Slide the stack forward until it stops. Do not force the stack beyond its initial stopping point.

?? Slide the paper width guide inward until the paper is held snugly in the input tray, but not so tightly that it bends the paper. Insure the stack of paper does not extend

?? Observe the printer during operation. Promptly remove printed pages from the output tray.
