HP Pavilion dv8000t Notebook Questions & Answers
I have a hp Pavillion
Pull the hard drive, remove the battery AND the BIOS battery. Let it sit for 300 seconds. Then replace the BIOS battery and the main battery, but NOT the hard drive, then go into BIOS SETUP, and choose the default settings. Then boot to a bootable CD (such as Hiren's BootCD 15.2, or Parted Magic). Then set the boot options to NOT BOOT to the hard drive. Then reinstall the hard drive, and boot to your Windows installation CD, and reinstall the OS of your choice.
Connect pc to hd tv
use a vga to dvi or a vga to vga connector lead from the back of your notebook, to the tv dependong on your tv connection inputs, although you will only get 720i not 1080i as you will need a notebook with an hdmi port for that resolution.
Vertical lines in my laptop screen
Have you tried hooking it up to an external monitor?
This would ensure that it's the screen and not the video card..
If you do that and you receive a good picture then it could be something as simple as a loose video cable. Or it could also mean something like a bad video card or the expensive one, a bad screen.
File permission error when saving in Word 2007
This error occurs when you are in a domain, and the files came from other users.
What you can do is right click a folder or a file > properties
look for the security tab then, add everyone on the list. And make sure that you check full on the permissions.
you can get back to me if this doesn't work.
Hp pavilion dv8000 wireless printer does not work
Do you have more than one instance of the printer installed. If that happens the computer gets confused and don't know which one to print to. Also only one can be active if you have two instances of the same printer and you could be printing to the inactive one. Click Start/Control Panel and check your printers to insure that there is not more than one instance of the same printer installed. Also check down at the bottom right near the time and if you see the printer icon open it and clear out the queue. If you've printed to an inactive printer the queue will block you so just delete or cancel the items in the queue. Also check your printer properties to make sure it is printing to a TCPIP wireless connection and not a usb connection.
Why does my screen only brighten when the ac
Hi,
That cause by setting at Power Management setting. If your laptop setting is default, LCD back light is 60% if you running on battery and 100% when running with plug in. You also can change a setting at :
1- Go to Control Panel
2- Go to System & Security
3- Go to Power Option
4- Change Plan Setting

DV8000 power jack problem. Has no one solved this?
Hello,
You are speaking of the female power jack plugin...that is inside your laptop.
Ok first thing you would have to find a replacement power jack...ebay
would be your best bet or a quick search on google might find a website.
If you can do that know in advance that you will have to take your
laptop apart. Working on a computer can get complicated but a laptop is
even harder.
If the first two things I mentioned is not a problem then the last
thing is you will have to be pretty experienced at soldering. If the
power connector is soldered onto the motherboard (always is) then you
will first have to remove it without damaging the board itself.
Then you will have to be able to solder all the connections back on
without getting any solder on the area around it as you will damage the
motherboard.
Post back with any questions or comments. But what I'm getting at is if
you can't do all those things then your only option is to go to HP's
support site and email them to ask how much it would cost you to have
them repair it.
Thank you for choosing Fixya!
