Salt for DDW1805 Danby

I use ordinary household water softener salt crystals, not pellets, or table salt. The table salt often is not as refined as softener crystals, and can damage the dishwasher's softener in time. Also, the water softener salt comes in a large bag (around 25-50 lbs) for about $6 US.

GE dishwasher nautilus - bottom tray caster wheels come off daily.

I finally found a solution after 2 years! Appliancezone.com has wheels and studs to fix problem. WD12x10136 and wd12x10277. About $17.00 and rack is rolling perfectly. GE wanted 200 for an entire rack, no thank you!

Danby ice maker keeps flashing it is out of water but there is water in it

The water flow sensor has a dirty connection. There is an eyelet terminal screw holding down to the electrode, that just needs to be cleaned. Just loosening and tightening the screw a few times and maybe moving the electrode more into the stream fixed mine.

Where the water comes into the ice making tray you’ll see two shiny wire electrodes. When the water enters the tray it crosses the two electrodes telling machine has enough water.

Make sure the connection from the wire is clean, and you can test the machine with the cover off and confirm you fixed it.

The electrode is located under the black plastic cover at the rear right side of the machine.

You can access it by just removing the black plastic cover that holds the door. I took all the stainless steel covers off trying to figure this out.

Simple fix for me
Simply look at right side of machine get a flash light pull the insulation away from machine stick the light in look for the white little resovoir and the styrofoam float switch.
syphon the 1/2 cup collection this allows the float in the attached
cup to drop kicking the sensor out....
I dont suggest disconnection the sensor as im sure it will come back to haunt you. =)

worked for me takes 5 minutes
enjoy

Broken casters (wheels)

This is definitely something that you can do yourself. Remove the back of the dishwasher and the front kickplate. This will give you access to the wheels. The wheels are held in place with a U shaped clip. Remove the clip and the wheel will come out. replace with the new wheel.

This happened with my Danby DDW1805 and I fixed it myself. I used two step stools at the side of the dishwasher to raise it off of the floor.

Danby DDW1805W dishwasher won't drain

I had this problem and I had to take the shared drain pipe apart. I found a huge cement-like plug of coffee grounds mixed with flour from bread-making. I removed it all and now the machine drains freely.

Can't get the door to latch

I never had this problem but here is what it looks like on mine: There is a spring-loaded "U" shaped tongue jutting out at the top which is all the way down: ee61a44b-0405-4fd5-80c9-dfa0e852ccc6.jpg It can be pushed up and then it goes back down when released: 51912ccd-decf-4a6d-a32d-d478759a9a3f.jpg It fits into a cheap plastic white socket on the door: e283aa5c-f299-40a5-80dc-e2ebc721c1c7.jpg I don't know if that is movable or not but it is so cheap and flimsy I don't dare test it. My guess is that your tongue is stuck in the upward position. You said the center. I would try pushing it all the way down. You may just need to lubricate its hinge so it goes down automatically. It may have dried out. Hope this helps.
