If you have windows vista and it comes up with the "no scan options" don't press the button on the printer, go to "start" then "accessories" then "paint". This will open up the windows paint program. Go to "File" then click on "From scanner or printer". It will then scan the document, no more problems! Happy scanning

Is there any other error messages? Like carriage jam or something? If there are no other error then try to do a partial reset on your printer, to do that follow these steps:

Turn your printer on, remove the power cable at the back of your printer while the printer is ON. PRESS AND HOLD the # key and 3 key on the keypad, plug back the power cable WITHOUT releasing those buttons, DO NOT RELEASE THE BUTTONS until you can see the WELCOME SCREEN or INPROPER SHUT DOWN PRESS OK TO CONTINUE.

If this does not resolved your issue I'll try to find some solutions from you.

Installing HP Officejet 5600 all-in-one in Windows Vista

I have attempted to install software for the HP Officejet 5600 all-in-one onto my laptop with Windows Vista. It has failed and appears to not be compatible with Windows Vista. Is there a software updates that will allow me to use this all-in-one with Windows Vista??

Go to hp.com. Click on 'software and driver downloads' (on the left of the screen). Next to 'for product:' type in Officejet 5600' and click the >> symbol. Then choose from the list that comes up. When in doubt, choose the first on the list, HP 5605 All-In-One. On the next screen select 'software and driver downloads' again. There you'll see where you can select Windows Vista. CLick on that and sleect, under "Driver", HP Full Feature Software and Drivers.

On the next screen, scroll down and select 'Install Now'.

Best wishes, Al

error 350

I can send faxes successfully except for a few certain numbers, both from a communication company (we are their clients) who convert faxes into email and email them to us. The numbers are toll-free.

I can fax elsewhere without any problems. I seem to receive just fine. My colleague in the same community has the same problem. A colleague out of town can use this toll-free number (and service) without any incident.

The error is always 350.
Any help you can give me is appreciated!

Error 350 means...
The remote machine has failed to respond to a fax command from the local machine due to the connection being interrupted. These errors can occur if the phone lines in the area to be faxed are old or there is noise (static on the phone line). Other reasons can include power outages and other power related problems.
OR
The call waiting service can cause this error. The click, heard for an incoming call, is actually a momentary disconnect of the line.
OR
The remote user has pressed the Stop key while the reception was in progress.
OR
Under rare conditions incompatibility between the two machines may cause the remote machine to simply abandon the call.

Try this solution...
*Re-attempt the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve.
*Disable ECM. Errors may still occur, and may result in a degraded image quality on the received page. However, the ability to transmit the entire document will be improved. (To turn off the ECM, simply press the setup button on the pritner, use the right arrow and select advance fax setup on the options. Press ok under advance fax setup. Use the right arrow and select Error Correction Mode. Press ok and select Off.)
*Try sending at a lower transmission speed. (To lower the transmission speed. Press the setup button, go to advance fax setup. under advance fax setup, look for Fax speed. change the fax speed to slow)

After you have done the T/S, try sending a fax again.
Hope this would resolved your issue.

Hi there you can try this.
Not sure if this will work that well for you but this is what I found worked for me.

  1. Start
  2. Control panel
  3. Printers
  4. Double click your printer
  5. See the jammed jobs in there
  6. Click Printer
  7. Click Cancel All Documents
  8. Wait about a minute, should hear your printer cooperate again
----------------------------------------------------------------
If you are on Vista Home Premium, go through the following steps to clear "deleted" print jobs from the print queue.

1) Go to Control Panel
2) Select System and Maintenance
3) Select Administrative Tools
4) Double-click on Services
5) In the list of services, scroll down until you find one called "Print Spooler"
6) Right-click on "Print Spooler" and select "Restart"
7) The "deleted" jobs will disappear and any queued jobs in your print queue will print

Hope this helps. I figured it out on my own without any assistance from the paid professionals.

Cant say if it will work so come back let us know so other can use this thanks.

All The Good Luck. Pineworks
