I would do a couple of ink cleaning cycles.

I think the ink level (counter ) should be reset ..here are some instructions for how to do it ..(be sure of what kinda cartridges you use first )

refilled cartridges are often seen a s empty ..and this is teh issue with them ..needs to be reset and the printer also (reset counter )

Follow the steps:
Press and hold the Cancel or Cancel/Resume button. Press the Color Start Copy button.
Test page will print out.

There are several reasons why the HP All-in-One may fail to align the cartridges. The most common reason is an ink cartridge that has one of the following problems:

• One of the ink cartridges is low or out of ink. Black and all three colors must be available.
• The paper has already been printed on or is colored paper.
• Protective tape on a new ink cartridge has not been removed.
• Contacts on the ink cartridge are not meeting the contacts in the carriage correctly.
• Cartridge is remanufactured or refilled. Refilled or remanufactured ink cartridges may have been damaged during the refilling process or have clogged ink nozzles.
• The ink cartridge is defective

You need to download a proper driver for your operating system from here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=441115
select the operating system and download all drivers and softwares.

Nothing to worry if you have lost the CD. Alternatively you can download the required drivers from the internet. Click here or here and choose the drivers according to the Operating you have on your PC.

You'll have to choose your operating system and then the driver file you need.

If the printing is pause and cause error, just go to printing properties and delete the printing queues and start to print again.

If you have not previously installed your printer or you did an uninstall before downloading the new driver, you now need to add the printer using the new driver.

In Windows 7, click on Devices and Printers.

At the top of the window you will see Add a device and Add a printer

Click on Add a printer.

Choose either Add a local printer or Add network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.

Follow through the choices and if the install program is not able to find the dowloaded driver, point to the location where your driver was downloaded. If you did not make note of the location you could run a search or download a second time making sure you save the driver to a location you can remember. You can then say Have Disk when asked and then browse to the location you saved the printer driver on your computer

If you have the correct driver for your printer and operating system the printer should complete installation

The product software print setting is probably designated as grayscale. Follow these steps to check this setting:

1. In the software application you are trying to print from, click File , and then click Print . The Print dialog box opens.
2. Make sure your printer is selected, then click Preferences . The printer Preferences dialog box opens.
3. Select the Color tab, then make sure that the Print in grayscale option is not selected.

Step 2: Check ink levels
NOTE: If you have installed a refilled or remanufactured print cartridge, or a cartridge that has been used in another printer, the ink level indicator will be inaccurate or unavailable.

Open the Printer Toolbox . There are two ways to open it:

• Open HP Solution Center , select the Settings menu, then the Print Settings submenu, and finally the Printer Toolbox .
• If the HP Solution Center method does not work, open Printers and Faxes in the Windows Control Panel , then right-click your printer icon and click Properties . Click Printing Preferences . Click the Services tab, then the Service This Device icon.

The Printer Toolbox opens. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab. A cartridge might be running out of ink even if the graphic shows ink remaining (see the note at the start of this section). Lines or streaks always appear in printouts when the cartridges begin to run out of ink. Replace print cartridges that are out of ink or low on ink.

Not compatible or not working well with windows 7?

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver/application you installed is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't you worry, You can still use your old installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Just remember that before installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer/application first, then choose "troubleshoot compatibility". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run.
