I have the same problem but no such luck in resolving through customer service for free as suggested. I was told unless the purchaser purchased the extended warranty, the standard was 60 days only.
They were able to provide a complete new base for a tax total of $49.99 inclusive of shipping. This is not such a bad deal relative to purchasing a new one.
If I were to buy one new today though, I think I would research an alternative product since this design is flawed and they obviously are not interested in solving it and producing happy customers.
I am certain there are others that produce a good machine and will stand behind their designs. My internet research revealed many people suffering from this same problem.
I had the customer service rep review this page and thread with me while on the phone and he did not seem to care a whole lot. He further stated that the threaded white piece is not available as a replacement part; only the entire base as priced above.
So anyone researching to purchase a
Jack Lalanne power juicer take note of how they stand behind faulty or flawed designs. They are not fully commited to the "outstanding last a life time product" like their marketing implys.
