Had same issue with my LG so I trouble shot the issue by noticing the green square would disappear if I switched to dvd(HDMI-2 ) Or HDMI-3. Which lead me to believe it was being generated by my Xfinity box (HDMI-1. So I first rebooted box. With no success I then unplugged box all together. Tah Dahhh! Problem fixed. Hope this helps.

Can we talk about how it says “not support” and not “not supported” that bothers me more then thinking about the TV being broke.

Some say its' for "heat dissipation". I'm not sure about that. I would think it would insulate the heat (like a blanket), than to dissipate it. To dissipate heat properly, it needs a heat sink made from aluminum or a fan.If your capacitor is overheating, then something else is wrong. They should not get hot. They do go bad, but they should not get hot. If they get hot, then you have a bigger problem. Capacitors should only get warm - if that. Usually they are cold, during operation, unless they are near a heat source.

Sounds like The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Yes there is a fuse, but it is integrated, i.e. a soldered component in the main board. A manufacturers warranty fix would be your best bet or failing that a manufacturers recommended engineer. Please don't use an unqualified person as the main board can be blown if too much heat is applied when changing out the component part.

In most of the case, the problem is a defective display LCD panel, this problem in some terminology is called PIXEL RETAINING, it means the pixels are locked up, there is no good permanent solutions for it, you have to change the LCD panel.

sound like the inverter circuit board problem. check & replace back same part# inverter circuit board. hopefully could help!!

Have you tried un plugging the TV for 10 minutes and seeing if that clears the lock up? This is a software issue I'm sure.

Due to the cost of repairing this I would just replace the TV
