Have you tried un plugging the TV for 10 minutes and seeing if that clears the lock up? This is a software issue I'm sure.

Due to the cost of repairing this I would just replace the TV

if the home needed the fog treatment an TV left on it ..would be a problem no so much if just surface or barrier treatments LCD screen Vizio L32 User Manual switch unit off at the wall for a while start going through setup menus if remote has good batteries and everything works if no better .. might need a tv repair man

don't know this item but guessing its a tv and ghosting on tv is usually initially an antenna problem.

I would check the circuit breaker first.

read the directions at the part where it says manually program, you have to do certian functions then push the channel up and down until tv responds then its programmed, this is actually finding the code as you go, instructions will explain it all because ech universal is just a little diff in its manual process.

If you Heard a popping sound. Most likely it was a capacitor that went bad. Yahoo search capacitor to see a picture.
Usually capacitors swell when they go bad. if you Don't know How to spot it. Concentrate on the circuit board you plug connects to and check to spot the capacitor. You might not actually have a standard capacitor. So look for a film capacitor as well.

You need the original remote. Or (if your TV has buttons) select either "VHF" or "Antenna" as "source." _That_ is the signal that gives you channel 3.
