You are in luck! You do not need a driver for this camera to transfer video over the firewire port into your computer. All you need is the appropriate cable and some video editing software. The software can be as simple as Windows Movie Maker (if you are on a PC) or iMovie (if you are on a Mac). Plug your camera into the firewire cable, turn it on and put it in playback mode, then start your video software. Then there should be an option or menu entry labeled "import footage from camera" or "import" or "transfer from camera" or similar, depending on what software you are using.
Good luck and happy video editing!

My cam is in japanese
I would search japanese text for words like the word language and maybe the word settings. Most instruction manuals lay out the actual menu procedure, you will have to search *** character text for all the words in the menu to get back to the language option. Good luck, cause that sucks.

This is most likely caused by a damaged or misaligned video drum and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it’s not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.
My name is Rick and I’m a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I’m semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

How do I get videos from camera onto PC? panasonic VDR-M30PP
Sorry for asking, but have you installed the drivers that came with the camera onto your pc, because some of the software has this built in to enable you do as you wish with the recordings.
Also PS2 consoles dont play all types of DVD especially DVD-RW, but normally DVD do have to be finalised before they are playable.
If all else fails just uninstall the drivers that you got with camera and re-install before connecting your camera back up, if they were installed initially.
Normally it's wise to install all the software bundle that comes with it, then later remove what you don't need and don't have more than one editing programme installed as they can conflict stopping your downloads.
Hope this helps.

Card is "write-protected"
SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
