if your computer came with a motherboard disk the driver could be on it
control panel administrive tools computer management device manager any yellow? ! question marks or red x will tell you that you need to reinstall the driver/s to do this right click on the ? x ! select reinstall driver hope this helps

You need to find out of the problem is in the monitor or in the PC. Try feeding the audio into the monitor with MP3 player or CD player to see if you get the sound, if you do, then you need to see if the sound card driver is installed, etc. Post back so we can guide you further.

sales669, You or a qualified electronics technician will need to open unit for inspection and repair. Do not use unit if you smell ozone and continue to hear noise!!!! Any one or a combination of things can be causing your symptom. Do you have any possibility of doing warranty service, or is unit to old? In fact if it were me, I would disconnect it and use a spare unit until v7 lcd is repaired. Read more of my fixya profile to see if something fits your BLACK SCREEN problem. You will have to reload the driver for yor monitor. Get it from Videoseven for your operating system.

Make sure you are using the proper connections.

VGA is analog and DVI is digital.

If you are using DVI and still having the same problem, then it may be a graphics card signal issue.

check the plug at the back of the monitor. insert it properly

Any of the 3 internal wires that delivers the tree color (Reg-Grenn-Blue) is disconected or damaged.

Open your monitor and try to locate that wires...

Hi jkm007, Sounds like the back light inverter board is bad. It's a very common problem. LCD's use four small cold compact fluorescent bulbs to back light the display. (thats what gives the LCD it's brightness allowing you to see it) The inverter board runs these lights and when they go bad they will typically show symptoms like you have or the monitor power light comes on and you have either no display or a very dim display. If you ever have one that has no display but the power light is on you can check by shining a flashlight directly into the LCD from the front (right into the screen) if you can see an image then it's either the inverter board (most likely) or the CCFL bulbs have gone bad. The inverter board and CCFL's are replaceable. Good Luck, El Duderino

2005 monitors old. NO PC brand nor model stated,on the PC set the screen resolution (no OS stated either)this relic monitor is 5:4 ratio old square screen.so the PC must be set to that.1280 x 1024 is what works,on a PC click windows 10 desktop, and the right click and pick display settings, and put those numbers above in the box there and BINGO.most monitors this old are dead, the CCFL black lamps died ages ago. lucky you.
