hello, machine will need to finish calibration so it will not come back, so if machine failes it could be that the color cartridge is not printing, because this machine uses yellow to calibrate with.

You can download the free installation driver and software from manufacturer's support website by clicking this link

On the page which opens, select the operating system of your computer (Windows Xp/ Vista..) from the drop-down menu and click the "Next" button. Then download the required drivers and software.

The list of available drivers will load only after selecting the operating system of the computer.

There are many cases for your problem:
1. You need to clean the print head and insert the cartridge and check, whether it is working at fine.
2. Nozzle is stuck inside. You need to check for it.
3. It can be the problem of cartridge failure. The cartridge which you have may not be genuine. You need to buy new one and check it is working fine or not.

Do the following:
a partial reset by pressing and holding Cancel and the Left Arrow while plugging in the power cord.

Wait 30 seconds (which was originally designed by help desks so the clients would calm down).
Hold down cancel and LEFT arrow buttons on HP 2110, while plugging the power to HP 2110.

when ever i get that message it's when i use a "Non-HP" replacement cartridge...try using a HP catridge, or most likely, the printer has reached the end of it's usefull life!

you can try a "full reset" of the printer by..
-unplug it and let sit for a little while,
-BEFORE plugging it back in, press and hold both the enter and cancel buttons,
-plug the power cord in, and wait to release the buttons until the display on the printer tells you to,
-in many cases, this corrects some problems (especially that awfull grinding/ratcheting noise).
after many years of faithful service, i think mine is officially dead though...even the full resxet doesnt help.

drivers and owners operating manual are almost always free for download from manufacturer's website. look for support or help sections. install drivers and software first, then connect device.

For the check cartridge error:
Gently clean the contacts in the carriage, and on the cartridges with a paper towel or coffee filter moistened with water.
For the poor print quality or missing print:
Perform the Blot Test
Remove cartridge from machine, fold a paper towel back over a couple of times so it is about 4 layers thick, shake cartridge up and down hard, shake it over a sink unless you want to clean ink off the floor.
Now blot the nozzles of the cartridge on the paper towel, for a black cartridge you should see two black stripes, for a color cartridge you should see three colored stripes, if you don't have all stripes the cartridge is clogged or bad.
Have you checked the expiration date on the cartridges you are using?
Are you installing new HP cartridges, or refills?
You may be able to recover a clogged cartridge by swishing the tip in a saucer with a very small amount of warm water, then gently wiping it on a wet paper towel, be gentle the nozzles are delicate.
And do not trust the ink gauge on the PC, cartridges can dry up from the machine just sitting, the cartridges are vented, venting is necessary to let air in so that a vacuum won't develop in the cartridge. get more information and help for HP Printer Ink Cartridge .

it is posible that you might have just installed the print drivers only. are you installing from the original cd or did you download drivers?

my psc will not scan now. It says it is not connected to the computer, but a month ago it did scan. I use Vista windows and was able to scan either with Paint or Photo Gallery

HP have good support for driver downloads. Go to
http://www.hp.com/#Support
and enter details of your printer model and OS to download the correct driver.

This could be an issue from remanufacturing. Try a new cartridge from HP.

Many manufacturers have hardware in the cartridge and the printer that tell the printer "new cartridge". When a cartridge is refilled, you can have that giving a "bad" message.

remove your new color cartridge and make sure you have removed the safety tape on the botton of the cartridge.
