Why do the house lights flicker and dim when I turn on my HP Laserjet printer? Once it shows it's ready, the lights return to normal.

1) The printer is on a circuit that is close to overloaded. The printer power needed, is just enough to push the load, to the edge of too much.I do not know what country you are in, but let me use the USA as an example. The USA uses 120 Volts (AC)In the Service Panel, (Circuit breaker panel), there are circuit breakers used for receptacles, and lighting. The standard size of circuit breaker to use for these types of circuits, is a 20 Amp breaker.( 20 Amperes)120 Volts times 20 Amps = 2400 Watts (120 Volts X 20 Amps = 2400 Watts)This is THE maximum load this circuit will take.Come close to this maximum load (2400 Watts), and the lights may flicker.Solution is to use a different receptacle, that is not as loaded with appliances, etc.(The receptacle will be on a different circuit)[ I would also remove some of the load off of that circuit. With 2400 Watts available, one should only use a load that is close to using 2100 or 2200 Watts. This leaves a cushion of 200 to 300 Watts if needed. If there is an appliance that has an electric motor in it, (Refrigerator for one example), you need a 'buffer zone' of at least 200 to 300 Watts.Someone needs to go through, and see what all is connected to this one circuit. (One circuit breaker) Then that person needs to go through, and see that the circuit will not be overloaded, by varying what can be plugged into this circuit, or used on this circuit, at one time ]There is another thing however that I would like you to have checked by a professional.I need to explain how power comes into a Service Panel in your home, first. There are 3 main large cables coming into the Service Panel, at the top.(From the Service Meter can outside)Two Conductor wires that carry the power, and 1 Neutral wire. (There is also a bare copper Ground wire. More on that in a moment)http://www.make-my-own-house.com/diagram-electrical-home-wiring.htmlAgain, using the USA as an example, there is 240 Volts (AC) coming in to the Service Panel. There are 3 thick wires covered in insulation. (Black)One thick wire is 120 Volts. It connects to a power lug at the top of the Service Panel, inside the Service Panel, and connects to the Left side.(Only seen if the cover of the Service Panel is removed. You? NO. Professional? YES)Another thick wire also carries 120 Volts, and connects to a separate lug at the top of the Service Panel, on the inside of the Service Panel. This lug is on the Right side. The last thick wire is a Neutral wire. It connects to a lug in the Middle.[ LUG = Square/rectangular piece of metal Base, with square piece of metal Top.There is a screw going though the top, and into the base.Tightening the screw squeezes the Top and Base together ]Electricity coming into your home, or business is AC.Alternating Current.AC vibrates. It vibrates the wires. After time the vibration can loosen the connection, of the wire to the Lug. (Screw vibrates loose)This can also cause the lights to flicker. With the wire connection being loose, Resistance is created. Resistance creates Heat.Heat creates FIRE.Please have these connections checked in your Service Panel by a professional. I want you to be safe. For additional questions, or to have me explain anything I have stated in more detail, please post back in a Comment.Regards, joecoolvette

How do i clean the

Introduction Your printer requires minimum routine maintenance. This chapter explains the following tasks
  • Cleaning the printer
  • The toner cartridge
  • Extending toner cartridge life
  • Clearing a TONER LOW message
  • Replacing printer parts
Cleaning the printer To maintain print quality, thoroughly clean your printer:
  • Every time you change the toner cartridge
  • After printing approximately 6,000 pages
  • Whenever print quality problems occur
Clean the outside of the printer with a lightly water-dampened cloth. Clean the inside with only a dry,lint-free cloth. Observe the warnings and cautions that follow the cleaning tasks on the following pages. Caution To avoid permanent damage to the toner cartridge, do not use ammonia-based cleaners on or around your printer.
Printer Cleaning Tasks Before you begin these steps, turn the printer OFF and unplug the power cord. Caution Do not touch the transfer roller (black sponge-rubber roller) with your fingers. Skin oils on the roller can cause print quality problems.
If toner gets on your clothes, wipe it off with a dry cloth and wash your clothes in cold water. Hot water sets toner into fabric.
Warning Avoid touching the adjacent fusing area. It may be HOT
  1. OPen the printer's top cover and remove the toner cartridge
  2. with a dry lint-free cloth, wipe any residue off the Paper Access Cover (it has a green handle) and the adjacent silver metal strip.
  3. Wipe any dust or dirt off the black plastic Paper Feed Guide with a dry, lint-free cloth.
The Toner Cartridge see the printed book pending update of this page Extending Toner Cartridge Life see the printed book pending update of this page Clearing the TONER LOW Message see the printed book pending update of this page User-Replaceable Parts Some worn parts can be replaced by the owner. See Chapter 8, "Solving Printer Problems", for descriptions of the difficulties that can indicate when to replace a part. Warning Switch OFF and unplug the printer before replacing parts. Failure to do so may result in personal injury or damage to the printer. After switching the printer OFF and unplugging the power cord, allow the printer to cool for 30 minutes before replacing the parts.
Unless specifically noted, replacement is the reverse of removal. Always carefully observe the position and alignment of the part you are removing; this is your best guide to replacement. User Replaceable Parts Part Name Part Number Remarks Multi-Purpose (MP) Tray Pickup Roller RB1-2127-000CN Replace both the MP Tray Pickup Roller and the MP Separation Pad at the same time. 1. Open the Multi-Purpose (MP) Tray.
  2. Grasp the black plastic Envelope Feed Access Cover as shown, and pull it downward and toward you to remove it.
  3. Read all of this step before proceeding. Remove the pickup roller by pushing down on the plastic retaining clip with your right index finger (see inset A) while sliding the roller to the right with your left index finger. When the roller is partway to th right, push in on the small plastic tab (see inset B) behind the right end of the roller and fully remove it.
  4. Insert a flat-blade screwdriver into th indentation at the front of the separation pad and twist the screwdriver blade gently to loosen the pad see (inset). When loose, gently lift pad from its seat.
  5. To install a new separation pad, place it over the opening and press it down firmly with your forefinger to seat it. Be sure the metal edge is toward the front of the printer. To install a new Multi-Purpose (MP) Tray Paper Pickup Roller, slide it over the shaft, then rotate it so that the flat side of the new roller is aligned with the flat side of the shaft. Then slide th roller to the left until it clicks into place.
  6. Reinstall the black plastic Envelope Feeder Access Cover and discard the used roller and pad.
Paper Cassette Pickup Roller Before you begin these steps, turn the printer OFF and unplug th power cord.
  1. Remove the toner cartridge.
  2. Remove the Paper Cassette.
  3. place the printer on its left side so that the bottom of the printer is easily accessible.
  4. Remove the pickup roller by pinching the release clip and sliding the roller off the shaft (the new roller will be installed in the reverse order). Slip the new roller over the shaft and rotate it until properly aligned. Slide the roller along the shaft until it clicks into place.

HP LaserJet pro color MFP M276N Network lan port no working

Troubleshoot the wired network connection Make sure you are using an undamaged Ethernet cable, check for a green light near the Ethernet port on the printer, and then print a report to verify the connection. Turn off the printer, and then disconnect the Ethernet cable from the router and the printer. Check the cable for damage, and then verify that it is an Ethernet cable and not a phone cable. NOTE: Ethernet and phone cables look similar, but Ethernet cables are usually bigger and have eight visible wires on the connector. Reconnect the cable to a different Ethernet or LAN port on the router, and then connect the other end to the printer's Ethernet port. Turn on the printer. Check the lights on the printer's Ethernet port to make sure the connection is successful. The green light should be steady, and the orange activity light should blink. Print a Wireless Network Test Results or Network Configuration report. Inkjet printers with a control panel menu: Open the Wireless, Network Settings, or Setup menu to locate the list of available reports. Most inkjet printers without a control panel menu: Press the Wireless and Information buttons at the same time, or press the Wireless and Start Copy Black buttons at the same time. LaserJet printers: Press and hold the Wireless button for 10 seconds or until the Ready light blinks, or go to the Wireless menu and select Wireless Network Test. Laser NS and Neverstop Laser printers: Press and hold the Resume and Wireless buttons for 3 seconds. DeskJet 6000 and 6400, ENVY 6000 and 6400, and Tango printers: Touch and hold the Information button until all control panel buttons light up, and then touch the Information and Resume buttons at the same time. Make sure the Network Status is Ready, or follow any instructions to resolve network issues identified on the report. Regards, Rachel Gomez
