There are 2 cause for this problem
1st possible cause is the fuser ( either resistance doesn't go to correct temperature, or temperature sensor is damaged and doesn't read the correct temp )
2nd formatter board needs to be replaced or the main chip needs to be replaced

Try a hard reset of printer and/or reinstall the software, Check cartridges for ink and operation.

In the Attention state, the Attention light is blinking and the Go and Ready lights are off. This state can be reached in the following circumstances:

● Paper tray is empty
● Door open
● Toner Cartridge Missing
● Paper jam/ Tray Misfeed

Pressing Go attempts to reset after a jam is cleared or is ignored in the other error cases. It may be necessary to clear the error manually and press Go or close the top cover. If the error still persists, the device will return to the Attention state.

Note
The LJ1010 product series does not have paper out sensors. When the printer is in an Attention state because the paper tray is empty, the user must reload paper and press Go.

ijust solved this issue

WHOA ...

my printer is HP 1020,, and i was printing a huge number of sheets, which USED TO GET STUCK IN AGAGIN AN AGIAN... coz, i was using a low quality damned paper..

now,, it began to gave error ,tht either the front cover door not closed , or its toner cartridge missing.

Well,, simple solution for me was (which is basic i think)

>> Remove the metallic plate on the back of the printer
>>there you 'll find , on the right side, near the socket for poer cable, a "lever" like thing, thats the lever for the "barrier" between the SENSOR... move it and u'll get an idea..
>> if its jammed ,, then free it..
(mine was stuck into dont know wht, and i freed it, and all is fine)

>> if spring adjusment is wrong, correst it(you may get idea by moving it again n again, whether it comes bbacl to its orgignal position or not...

> remore the tonor cartidge and insert it back while looking on the lever movements.... and you ll get whats the matter with it..



PLEASE note it,,, that i think,, the sensors are NEVER damaged !!! mind it.....my knowlegde says , sensors are hardly damaged ..

Not supported, purchase a new printer. This is a home printer, never intended for server environments. This is a host based printer and has no internal PCL board to convert print stream from current windows.

Try a different cartridge, blank horizontal would point towards a possible drum issue. Does the defect repeat down the page?

Means that your cartridge is still functional but of older date. HP warns because the age of cartridge may negatively impact print quality. It is just annoyance, you should print without any problems. Regards, Mike

check pressure spring lubricate fuser under film ensure well assembling

Remove Old Printer Drivers Take you time and if you get stuck ask. Good Luck.

In my opinion it might be the lsu unit , or the high power supply is not having a proper contact on the cartridge
