HP 7410 will not boot. It powers up and the HP logo screen flashe

This was solved really well on this blog. It is some problem with the wifi board. If you disconnect it (no so hard and well explained on the blog) you will have network printing over a cable but no wireless.

Carriage Jam HP Officejet 7410 All-in-One

Don't know if this will help everyone...but worked for me after trying everything I could think of (including calling a repair service who had no solution). Open the carriage door. Turn printer on and off a couple of times. The carriage on mine would still go back and forth during this process. Noticed a cover moving from front to back behind and then underneath where the cartiridges sit when idle on far right side. When it stopped before the cover moved forward I moved the cartridge holder to the left and could see a "clump" of partially dried ink about the size of a lima bean back there. I carefully removed it with a pair of tweezers. Now it's working again!

Officejet 7410 installation fails when it gets to the driver installation on windows 8

Sounds as if the software driver is not correct. I'm sure you downloades the software from HP and when asked for which operating system you checked the Windows 8 option. Being a New OS the driver might be an issue. Look on the HP Officejet 7410 website and look for a troubleshooting/support section.
