Its common for coins left in pockets to dislodge from the clothing. Most times you see them in the drum. On rare occasion they can get into places that could damage dryer. However since there is a burning smell it is not something to guess about. Being that it is less than a year old it should be warrantied, if it is not a mal-funtion you would still want to fix it. The start button does nothing

Start buttons seldom fail, but door switches fail often. Have someone good at this open the lid and bypass the door switch, it should start fine. Door switches can be bought at Amazon or "Sears Parts Direct" or e-bay. God bless your efforts.

My dryer doesn't heat up

I had the same problem. I called the repair man and my heating elements were broken, I had them replaced and now my dryer works fine. For me getting it repaired was cheaper then buying a new one. Your repair man should give you a free estimate on the cost

My dryer will not start?.....nothing tripped in

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
You will need to test the thermal fuse and see if it is bad. It should read closed for continuity. If it is open, check the vent and see if it is cloged or kinked. You can test this with a multi-meter [AP3873826]. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. How To Check Continuity With Ohmmeter

Dryer does not get hot enough to dry clothes Roper REX4634KQ1 Electric Dryer

Either the heater element is breaking or is loose and getting only 110V instead of 240V.  First I would check the wall outlet with a voltmeter for 240V between Line1 and Line2.  Also check the connections and continuity for the heater element.

What do I do if the voltage to my electric roper dryer is not sufficient?

The dryer must be connected to a 240 volt 3-prong outlet. If the voltage is not sufficient, you may have a problem with the electric supplier. What kind of problem are you having that leads you to believe the voltage is not sufficient?

I have a roper dryer Red4440VQ1 why sometimes it heats and sometimes it doesn't

Electric clothes dryers all have at least one sometimes several temperature switches mounted along the heater elements enclosure. This switch is designed to detect extreme temperature and allow the the heater elements to turn of to prevent overheating. The switches are generally only about 6 bucks a piece and have two two screws to hold them in place When they start to go bad , they typically do just what yours is doing , shuting off and becoming stuck in the off position never clicking back on . As a field appliance tech I have repaired may of these . You could expect to pay about 120-160 for the repair if your not handy enough to take on the task. Hope this was helpful. Best of luck.
