The refrigerator in my new home is Roper

Hi ; Not an expert on this fridge, You do not need to clean the coils But at the back of the fridge , there should be a water trap sat on top of the compressor that is linked to the fridge via a pipe. It allows condensation to run out of the fridge to the trap, where the heat from the compressor evaporates it. Its possible that food waste has travelled down the pipe into the trap and is creating tha bad smell You could also check the back for anything else that may have arrived by default and is causing the smell Not sure if it has a special way to move it : But its a heavy object , so a little extra force may be needed. Take care and good luck

Leak

drain line is clogged. when the frig defrosts the water drains through a tube down to the bottom of the frig near the compressor where it evaporates away. look on the back of the unit to see if the tube runs down the back. follow it to the end. you need to blow backwards through that tube. let me know if this helps.

Samsung refrig model rf26xaebp stopped making ice but i still bet water thru the door

The solonoid valve for the ice maker may be faulty or the icemaker may be froze up. Try thawing out the icemaker with a hair dryer. If thats doesn't fix the problem you may have to replace the soloniod or ice maker control. Be sure the arm above thre the ice bin is in the down position. Hope this helps.

Freezer ices up on the back of freezer

When you see freezing on the back panel of most any freezer it is an indication that one of the three components of the defrost system has failed and causing your refrigerator to miss the defrost cycle. The=> 2304099 Defrost Control Board10_2_2012_11_04_35_pm.jpgYou can defrost the evaporator after removing the rear panel of the freezer with a hair dryer. Here is a link to the=> RT18DKXKQ Roper Repair Part List You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view these documents. The Adobe Acrobat Reader is available as a free download. Click HERE=> Get Adobe Acrobat Reader if you do not already have the Adobe Reader. Unplug the refrigerator and remove the control panel inside the fresh food section just above the top shelf you will be able to see the Adaptive Defrost Control Board and sometimes but not always you will see burn marks or signs of heat damage to the control board. In most cases this board will need to be replaced to get the refrigerator to defrost again. The other two parts to check will be the=> 2315531 Defrost Heater Assembly and the=> 4387503 Defrost Thermostat You can test the defrost heater using the short tutorial on the same page as the part. After testing the defrost heater and having a look at the defrost control board I can help you test the defrost thermostat which must be very cold to test with your OHM Meter in order to get the correct readings, Just let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze

has the right idea. The drain from the freezer to the pan under the refrigerator is plugged up - most likely with ice. You can see this drain line behind the refrigerator. When the freezer goes through an automatic defrost this drain line is used to get the water out of the freezer. Try a thorough manual defrost to see if the line opens up - you will have quite a bit of water in the tray underneath and it might overflow. That is probably all you will have to do to fix this problem.
