Try a hard shutdown if the volume is up.

your problem could be that the hard drive is broken, perhaps with some tool to repair hard disks the problem. test starting for example hiren boot from a memory or cd and see if it recognizes the hdd, if so you can pass some repair tool

remove the bios password by removing the cmos battery, removing the jumper from the pins right next to the battery, marked something like pswd, plugging it in and hitting the start button.Before you open the case, unplug, remove the bettery, then hold the start button to get rid of any energy.

Hi According to the manual which I found available for download here: File description there is a button on the keyboard marked "num" and this toggles the virtual number pad on and off.
