It depends on which photo editor software you're using (some more effective than others). Canon usually ships your camera with a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements. Choose "Sharpen" from the Edit toolbar.

This will describe how, if you have been using a speedlite alot, than the little tab under the shutter release side of the hot shoe can get bent down thus constantly pressing down (toward the bottom of the camera) the small button which deactivates the pop-up flash even when the speedlite is not attached. Just bend the tab up a little with a jewler's screwdriver, turn the camera off and on and voila!! Fixed!!! Dan describes pushing the tab down, but on the xti, the tab needs to be bent up to release the flash deactivation switch and fix the problem. When you change the zoom, chances are the camera lose focus, and you need to half-press the shutter button again to the camera autofocus. Its normal behavior to lose focus when zooming in or out.

Try using a small pencil eraser or a fiberglass brush on the battery contacts. Do this on just the battery, not the camera contacts. Do very little and try it in the camera again. If it doesn't improve, try a new battery.

You have your own answer - the lens is damaged, probably beyond economic repair.

in manual mode, will not try to focus itself, my be the manual auto switch is faulty, or the focus related mechanism not rotating the lens, open the lens carefully check the focus motor and gear set (engine is the technical term)

Take it to a service centre, let them deal with it, and fix the problem that has caused this.

Are the OS and camera compatible ?

Instead of connecting via the camera, just use a USB card reader and put the CF card in that.

This is to do with the function you select on the top wheel. In certain modes some functions are not available. Check your manual.

I dont think the 350D has a video function

The max Shutter speed is 1/4000 to select this put the camera in Tv mode i.e. Timed value or shutter priority

You'll need a Mac connection to do this as the cable provided is a normal USB cable. The 350D doesn't have a wireless function
