The battery compartment is secured to the bottom of the bassinet. Remove the baskets from the fabric shelf (if present) and look between the frame rails. The battery compartment has two covers, each secured by a Philips screws (one on each side of the compartment). Unscrew the screws and you'll see 2 AA batteries in each section. Match the orientation of the batteries when you replace them. Then replace the covers and their screws. Then put back the baskets.
