You can make your device less laggy by having your Camera save photos you've just taken/captured, to the device hard drive rather than the microSD card.
Why? Even though a microSD card may have a fast Write speed, your device's on-board hard drive is much faster. Doing so will make your camera faster, less laggy, and increase battery life because it can do the work easily.
After you take your photos, create a folder on your microSD card and just move the files from your device to the microSD card.
