Why will it not format the new memory card? I have tried 4.

Make sure the little tab/switch on the card is in the proper position for read/write, then try to format the card on a desktop or laptop computer, using the FAT file system. Then pop it in the camera. It should read it.

"High camera temperature"

this worked for me: just hit the bottom hard with your palm and the top and sides, not the front or back. After 3 hits, the date screen came back on and it was fixed. This was after the other two solutions I found on this site failed, namely pushing the shutter down before the message comes on or blowing into the camera slot with the memory card removed.

My Kodak Easyshare DX7630 no longer takes 6.1 megapixel images!

This happens all the time.Don't confuse pixels with bytes. JPEG files are compressed so as to tale less disk space. 1.5 to 2MB is just about right for 6MP pictures.

Kodak Easyshare DX7630 Can't Tranfer Pictures

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa or Kodak's.

the 5-way switch breaks it's solder connections on several Kodak models. if you have a soldering iron with a fine tip and are comfortable working on small soldering joints it is possible to repair the joystick (there are 10 solder connections on a 1/4 inch square switch, 3 on two sides and 2 on the other two sides)

Will not format memory card

Your camera uses mmc/sd cards. If you are trying to use, for example, an SDHC card, the camera cannot use it and therefore will not format it.

Lcd screen does not show scene and photos are all

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

When I switch on I get the "Set date and time"

Hello.

Your first problem has something to do with your camera's "Internal Battery". It might be dead. That happens when the camera is left without a charged battery for a long period of time. According to Kodak, it "usually" corrects itself by putting in a fully charged batteries and don't use it for 24 hours. If it doesn't correct itself by then, you need to send it to them so they can service it.

About your second problem, your RIGHT button might be malfunctioning. Can you use it to change settings? Is it just not functioning when viewing pictures?
