format the card in a computer. Make sure the lock tab is in the unlock position

this worked for me: just hit the bottom hard with your palm and the top and sides, not the front or back. After 3 hits, the date screen came back on and it was fixed. Your first problem has something to do with your camera's "Internal Battery". It might be dead. That happens when the camera is left without a charged battery for a long period of time. According to Kodak, it "usually" corrects itself by putting in a fully charged batteries and don't use it for 24 hours. If it doesn't correct itself by then, you need to send it to them so they can service it.

About your second problem, your RIGHT button might be malfunctioning. Can you use it to change settings? Is it just not functioning when viewing pictures?

Try a different card. The cards are only good for a certain number of writes, then they're done.
