Have you tried this card in any other device?

Format card in your computer first, using FAT 32 then try again in camera

An external reader is the best solution. It will transfer the images way faster than using a cable connected to the camera. See if there is a setup option in your camera that chooses the SD card only for storing photos. If there is, then select it.

Sounds like subject movement. Try using a faster shutter speed

For Z740 camera the batteries should be AA Ni-MH batteries it will provide a maximum power on the camera. Now if your using the battery and its fully charged still wont turn On.

The memory card might be bad. Try a new or different memory card and if those work fine, t is your card that's bad. Have you used this card in this camera prior with good results or is this the first time? Has the card been formatted on a different system or different computer prior and if so, there might be problems there and maybe if the card is good on other equipment, it might be relegated to just those. If you have data or photos on your card that you cannot recover yourself, you can try sending it out to a data recovery service you can find online. Hope this helps, Mike

if you insert the card and it would read the card immediately - not allowing you to see the pictures on the internal, that means the image storage is set to AUTO, you have to set it back to internal so you can copy them to card and just put it back to AUTO to reactivate the card

please follow this path:
insert card> turn on cam to auto> press review> "reading memory card" > press menu> scroll down to image storage> press ok to select> select INTERNAL MEMORY> press ok

scroll down to COPY> Copy pictures to memory card> scroll down to all> press ok
message to expect: "copying"

when it goes to back the menu screen
scroll to IMAGE STORAGE again and select AUTO> ok> "reading memory card"

you're supposed to see the copy of pictures from your internal and pics from your card if there's any

64mb is a very small memory card..... my Canon might fit just 1 picture on there, with the 8gb, just follow the camera instruction to format it..... the camera wants to prepare the card for use.

because it's a Kodak..... and the easyshare range have so many faults.... have you tried updating the firmware?

No. The P850 works with MMC and SD cards, 2GB or smaller. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.
