Was a new Main Board replaced? if so just press the exit button on the remote to exit. Then turn unit off/then on and your picture should return.

In some models of LCD TVS; the backlight inverter and its T'Con board will be a part of the panel itself, and will be a built-in type inside the LCD panel. If so, they can't be replaced. In this case; a panel replacement is the only repair. For some other models, the backlight inverter section circuit will be a part of the main power supply regulator [SMPS]. To such sets, the power supply section circuit too should be troubles hooted. Contact any service technician. The circuit will differ with models and versions.

The specification of plasma panel lifespan is somewhat suspect, since the process of determining longevity of the product is based on deductive mathematical calculation of phosphor dissipation, and does not take into account the electronic components and the myriad of problems that can occur.
Whilst all new LG "Full HD" (1080p) plasma HDTVs panels are now rated for 100,000 hours (that's more than nine hours of watching a day every day for 30 years), your 50PT350 panel is only capable of "Std HD" (720p: 1024 x 768 pixels).
As LG have not specified a specific panel lifespan for their 720p models, we can only presume this panel belongs to LG's earlier plasma panel specification of 60,000hrs.
You can prolong the life of your plasma by avoiding excessive use of the Dynamic Contrast & Brightness settings. Sometimes these settings are set to maximum when shipping from the factory, so reduce these settings to a maximum of 60% where possible.
Although plasma phosphors are more resilient to burn-in (including technologies to help prevent it), as a precaution you should avoid leaving static images on your screen (i.e. black letterbox bars, logos, game screens) as these could still leave behind a 'ghosting' image embedded on your screen. Try to watch in full widescreen format as much as possible, to prevent the black sidebars.

Check the obvious first, such as whether the mute button is on or whether the volume is turned all the way down. If that's not the issue, try the following steps.1. Verify that all cables are firmly seated by reinserting each one. Loss of sound from moving, adding, subtracting or bumping into equipment is common. It is particularly applicable if your TV is connected to an exterior sound system. Inputs require tight connections in order for you to hear audio.2. Confirm that cords are connected to their appropriate plugs. Certain TVs have color-coded inputs that can be matched up with cable boxes and sound systems.3. Determine if it's the cable/satellite provider or TV station issue by checking other channels to see if the sound is isolated to a single station. You can also call your provider to see if they're experiencing issues with their audio before checking your own.6. If an external sound system is used, testing another input such as a radio or CD player is a good way to differentiate problems between the TV and the sound system.
