Memorex MVT2135 13 in. TV/VCR Combo Questions & Answers
Close caption
Should be under the menu/setup button on remote under close caption.
How do I get the picture?
The TV is usually set to Channel 3 or Channel 4. You may have a switch on the back of the VHS recorder near which is marked Ch3 Ch4.
Once you correct this, try the following procedure.
Some VHS have a tracking button that allows the user to tune to the best
signal. The tracking can also be done from the remote controller.
Usually that tracking function is used as follows.
While
movie is playing on the VHS unit and signal gets fuzzy, press the
channel key repeatedly (for example >> to increase the channel
number). f after awhile pressing the same channel change button does not
find a better picture, you should press the other channel change button
(to decrease the channel number <<) to see if the picture
improves.
If that does not work, IT DOES NOT MEAN that you tv/vcr
combo unit is defective. It could just be the movie. The tape is
magnetic and it might have been accidentally demagnetized.
If
picture is better with another movie/tape, your unit is definitely OK.

I can`t get any audio. Its not on mute. I can turn
Hello,
First check that any muting control is not activated. This might be a button on the remote or set itself. If you have a headphone jack, it may have dirty contacts as plugging in a headphone usually mutes the speaker.
If the set is mono or only one channel of a stereo set is out, then check for bad connections to the loudspeaker. Test the loudspeaker by disconnecting one of the wires (with the power off!) and measuring its resistance with an ohmmeter (it should be less than 100 ohms - probably less than 8 ohms). Or momentarily touch a 1.5 volt battery to the speaker terminals - you should get a click or pop from the speaker.
Next, trace back from the speaker output terminals to the circuit board and look for bad solder connections or a loose or dirty connector.
If these tests do not reveal anything, you probably need a scope (or audio signal tracer) and schematic. Or at least the part number off of the chip. Is the final amp a chip also or just a transistor? Have you tested the transistor? If there is little or no buzz from the speaker, that would indicate a problem fairly near the output. If the tuner/if were bad, I would expect some noise/hum pickup from the low level audio stages. Get the part number off of the chip. If it is in a socket, check the contacts for corrosion or looseness.
Hope it works...
VCR has no color picture is clear but black and
Vee, V, a Vee Cee Rrrrr ? Not a DVD?
If you are playing a VHS tape that should be color content and it's in Black and White ... well you could check the tracking control if there is one on that model. Otherwise it sounds pretty broken. Probably NWR. Not worth repair. Try Cleaning the heads with a cleaning tape???
Some of my channels on my tv dont work with the converter box
www.antennaweb.org
If you live closer than 15 miles, rabbit ears
If you live closer than 20 miles, omnidirectional
If you live closer than 50 miles, midrange outdoor (oldschool arial w/ rotator)
Further than 80 miles, you'll need a long range with rotator, perhaps
even an amplifier to go with it. Print off what your results were on
antenna web and bring it to a RadioShack or a local antenna store and
they should be able to point you to the right antenna for your
particular location.
Manual for MVT 2135
I imagine one can figure it out by going through some menu button on the remote and if not well, it won't be long before that function will be no good because next year in Feb, you'll need a converter box to receive TV shows which will be HDTV quality, though you can hook it up to your current TV and just use the record button to record the source from that box. Hope that helps.
Sub-title does not appear.
It's called "closed captioning" and should be under the menu/setup button. Subtitles are only for DVD players.
VCR
Maybe it's full, try it again when the vcr is hungry/empty or if it is empty take it back to where you adopted it because it's sick.
