Same here! It would say something along the lines of "this type of disc cannot be played. please insert a different disc." it's the appropriate dvd region, i've tried all types of dvds, and it still won't work. the vhs and cd still works, it's just the dvd player that won't.

I found a newer Comcast PDF file that shows a 5 digit number for tv with vcr ( no mention of DVD) but the code worked to turn on the tv and cable box together. My problem is it won't work the volume, yet

you will need a sdtv converter box and compatiable attenna to match before you will get over the air programing, you can get these from you loloca walmart for a resonable price

Your lens needs replacement

you have to open the back cover of the combo to clean the lens of the DVD with cotton bud dip slightly in a methylated spirit, if otherwise replace the drive of the DVD.

if you dont have sound in the internal speakers ,or headphone jack if it has one ,try the audio outs to a surround system,if thats what you are using allready,replace the audio cord ,or try a diffrent surround system,most likely if no sound anywhere,the audio output transistor on the main board is toast,panasonic may sell you a schematic,10 bucks or so ,but you will still have to locate it on the board and replace it ,involves soldering,and tech skills,,if you or a friend have these skills it would be worth a shot,if not send for repair,or maybe think about a new tv,the repair could cost as much as the tv depending where you bring it,good luck i hope this helps you aloha from maui todd0708

Some TV, depending on the model may not work, or not be fully functional if you use Universal remote.

If the TV has a blue screen it may be a source problem. Try connecting a DVD or a VCR, possibly through SCART cable that starts automatically

Also if the green light on TV is blinking and the TV has a blue screen, the TV may be in protect mode because of a fault.

Try unplugging the TV from main and plug it back, if that does not work, and changing connected source did not solve the problem, the TV may be faulty.

It sounds like your "Text" feature of your closed captioning may be activated. It sounds like what you would want to do is go in to your television menu and select CC or Closed Captioning to mute or off.
