My Panasonic PT-50LC13 when turned on has a green light for a few seconds you can hear the fans turn on and then you have a yellow/amber light that starts to blink 8 times i have replaced the bulb and the door is closed any ideas?

Check the Lamp if no picture, audio may be present. Screen is completely dark. Lamp LED flashes 2X every 5 seconds, Power LED flashes GREEN for 140 seconds then flashes RED.

most likely a bad mainboard or bad caps in the power supply. Borderline on the repair-ability. I would check Shopjimmy.com to see if used parts are available. If they are it may be worth it.

Hello, the optical block or light engine which ever you want to call it has gone bad, it's a very common and expensive repair to which I do not recommend doing. I would put the money into a new set. I'm sorry for the bad news.....tks

It is in the front on the left of the bulb compartment. It is as easy as removing two screws using lots of DAMP Q tips and having some patience. Keep carefully swabbing top and underside filter until clean, then lightly and very carefully vacuum with a home vac do not use a shop vac!
Leave TV unplugged with cover off as long as you can I would say a few hours or overnight and then plug in. If the filter is clean and you still get the error message there are other posts here that explain how to go into service mode and reset.
You do not need to spend hundreds of dollars on a "Panasonic" technician who has "done it before". You can dooooo it!!
