Fuji FinePix 6800 Zoom Digital Camera - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Want to change language japanes to eng
On page 92 of the manual is how to change the language. That only works when your software (Firmware) contains the language you want to use. If the camera came from Japan, most chance the language in the camera is Japanese only. You could try to register the camera and than ask Fuji if they can give you the right firmware. Sometimes they offer firmware updates. In such a case you must choose the one with the correct language.

Lens cover stuck open, power wont come on
I have been told by a camera mechanic i contacted on line (in America) that there is a fuse within the camera which is very small and soldered onto one of the boards. I was unable to get a precise location and the only details were that this component was either white with black writing or black with white writing. This may have a bearing on your problem.

May be you inserted a memory card formatted with your PC. Format the memory card using the Format function in the camera menu. Format function can be found in the setup menu of the camera.
If this does not work, try replacing the memory card.

How to download picture to pc from camers
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I can not use it as a webcam
The webcan function requires a driver especially for this purpose. It is no longer included in the windows drivers. I'd recommend you forget the project and instead buy a cheap webcam. The 6800 was not much good as webcam anyway. The pictures were to dark in normal indoor light.

How to get my finepix 6800 to work as webcam
First you need to switch USB-mode to PC-camera.
Menu/OK > Setup > USB Mode > PC cam > OK.
I'm not sure which programs this will work with, tho.
MS Videoconference / Messenger / Skype?
Your computer should recognize the camera as a webcam before you install different programs.

Need to charge my camera
Charge the batteries by plugging any 5 volt (1.5 or 2 amp output) transformer directly into the side of the camera. Many Fuji transformers have the same plug as well as some old Kodaks and Ricohs; and I have also used the charging transformer/cables from my TomTom GPS (home and auto) to re-charge various Porsche-design Fujis and equivalent Leica Digilux cameras.

Card Not Initialized Error
Get the photos you want to keep off the card, and reformat it in the camera. Just deleting pics won't help. More than likely corrupted memory, and needs reformatting, Has worked for me several times.
