Hello, The power to your motherboard is coming from your power supply if it is bad you will have to get another emachine power supply, for emachines, only emachine parts work.

Hello, Sounds like your software maybe messed up or your hard drive is bad. Try repairing your software or reloading your cd's or you will have to get new hard drive and reload the software.

I have purchased many different computer cords from stores, flea markets, and yard sales. Sometimes, you can find a small computer repair shop in your local area that will help you with the cords you might need and if you are really lucky, they might give you one or at least have a used cord to sell you. I know power cables can run 10 to 25 dollars retail, but I have purchased them for a little as a dollar from yard sales.

Take off the side panel, then remove the front panel by leveraging the black plastic clips that hold it to the metal chassis. Under the front panel will be the screws holding the dvd drive caddy in place which when removed reveals the hard drive.

Check and see if there's a Disk in your CD/DVD ROM Drive. I assume there's on in there that has some bootable files and your computer see's it and is asking to boot from it. Usually it will say something like "Press any key to boot from CD" so if you don't want boot from that CD just don't press any keys.

make sure you install all the network drivers (wired, wireless) then set up your home network to talk to your router(if you have one)

If you have another monitor change it see if that helps, If it doesn't tale the monitor to a service center (Best Buy) and the will test it for you. Terry

there are many different passwords you can have on a pc, bios, windows and others. if it's bios, contact emachines and the might be able to help. if not, get the hirens boot disc and there's a password remover on that - if you can follow it. Hiren BootCD 15 2

open the cabinet, remove the cables, then the screws holding the drive in and it slodes out.

How many accounts are there on your computer, if there is only you then you should already have administrator privileges and should be able to install a printer. It may be that you do not have these privileges despite being the only account holder. If this is the case go to control panel. Go to users and accounts. Entering that screen you should boxes that control the attributes connected with an account. You should be able to ascribe administrator status to your account here. the next time you get it up and running try doing a disk cleanup and a defrag and also do a disck check on the drive.go into mycomputer..then right click on the drive you want todo a disk check.might work after the check..
