I don't believe there are hi-8 adapters, only VHS-C to standard VHS... are you looking for a hi-8 player?

On mine, battery compartment is just above the red "button" on the left. You can manually operate the adapter by turning the chrome button on the top of the unit.

Use the manual wind beneath the adapter to wind off the VHS-C into the shell. If this is the motorised type also there is provision to wheel inthe tape manually. Once it goes back in the tape will eject up by itself with the wheel turned
If not remove the screws of the adapter-5-6 screws and open to release.

You must first put on the battery so that the mtor reurns back to the return mode so that the VHS-C can be placed . Once the door is shut after placing the cassette, the tape is wound up and it becomes just like a regular VHS tape. Now if this is not happening there is always a small gear on the back side with which you can manually wind to bring it up to the desired level. If not the motr is stuck or the pulley is running loose. You can open up and check inside , it is a simple mechansim with a switch to activate and return. Check the motor and gears. reset the drive by removing, check the battery voltage to the motor and your adapter will work. hope you check this out. Good day

Not sure what type of problem you have with this adapter.

You have to move the slide switch on the top cover slightly right to ease the spring that holds flip door. The door swings open and you can take out the C-VHS tape.

I hope the battery is there. But that is required only if your are loading a tape in.

It could be due to outdated codec.

Make sure to remove all codec packs that you have installed before installing the codec packs.

My vhs c tape is stuck inside my vhs adapter and changing batteries does not help. Is there a way to manually eject it?

Make sure that the flash drive is formatted compatible - for example NTFS will not be recognized by a FAT32 system. I suggest researching the tv and find out what kind of system it uses to read files and then make sure your flash drive is compatible.
