Why do Footballers wear shoulder pads?
The shoulder pads to
protect the payer from collisions with other players and they are probably the
most intricate pieces of equipment that the players wear. Shoulder pads consist
of a hard plastic shell with foam padding underneath. The pads fit over the
shoulders and the chest and rib area, and are secured with various snaps and
buckles. Shoulder pads are what give football players their
"broad-shouldered" look.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that he is a very intelligent man. He knows what to do in every situation and is able to make a play come to life when others would fold. He puts in a lot of work on and off the field. No doubt that he studies film to be able to prepare fore for different situations that may arise.
