Hi mary,
Your no disc error can be a DIY like the following
steps.
Assuming that the disc is good.
1.Clean the lens. -
Sometimes because of dust the lens can't read any disc. Try clean the lens by
soft cotton buds. Be careful while doing this. You can also used the vdv lens cleaner.
Find friends that can perform the next steps if symptoms still there after cleaning the lens.
2.Replace the ribbon - Check
the ribbon connected to the lens from the main board for scratch,
damage. Once it has an open line then of course the lens can't read the
disc. Also try to erase the contact by pencil eraser. If you've done the steps
above and the symptoms still there then the next step requires you a little
knowledge in soldering technique and reading the ohmmeter.
3.Check the motor - Check
the motor that spin the disc with an ohmmeter. You can test it using the
ohmmeter (x1) even it is connected on the lens assembly.Good
motor - reading should be fairly high and it will spin. Bad
motor- reading will drop to low resistance and will not spin.
Hint : 50% of my
repaired unit the above parts are commonly caused of the problem.
If you confirmed that you have a defective motor
then replace it with a new one. Before replacing the new motor you have to
check the clearance of the disc holder with the old one. The clearance should
be the same as the old because if not the lens will not read the disc if it is
too far or too close.
Ifyou already cleaned the lens, and confirmed that
the ribbon is good as well as the motor then I've advice you to send it to
repair shop because the next step should be done with an expert because it is
quite technical diagnosing the fault between the pick-up lens and the main
board.
Hope it may help you.
Have a nice day!
No power in remote.
Yes there is a battery, it is a slim almost like a large watch battery. If you take the remote and you are looking at it, and point toward the dvd player, flip it completly over 180 degrees left or right. There is a battery housing that slides out right on the end closest to you, you may need a sharp fingernail or a small screwdriver to pop the housing out. Once you do that you can take the dead battery out and find a new one..
Remote does not work.
hi,
check you remote first. for that simply point you remote to a mobile camera and press any button on the remote. if its working then you can see a white light through Mobile screen. you can't see the (infra red IR) light with your naked eyes. if there is no light then check the battery of your remote its a 3V button cell. replace it and try again. if u need any further help fell free to contact me through fixya

My DVD has problem read disc DVD. When I put
hi,
i have got the same complaint some days ago. your players spindle motor is faulty.
its winding have some problem. spindle motor is that one on which the dvd spins. when u insert the dvd it is not rotating at the required rpm. thats why it is not reading. the problem will not be with video cds . because it doesn't required a high rpm. replace the spindle motor. it will not cost a lot. its sure that ur problem will be solved.
if then also the problem remains,
your player's laser pick up unit have some problem with its DVD laser. there are two types of laser in dvd players. one for reading and playing audio cds, mp3 and video cds and the other for reading and playing dvds. in your player dvd laser have problem. dont think that these are two separate unit. the lasers are mounded in the same unit. if any of the laser get damaged you have to replace the whole unit.
if u need any more assistance feel free to contact me through fixya.
bellow is the image of laser pickup mechanism
ok
I load a disk, "loading"
The laser head has been covered by dust and it no longer recognizes the return beam - you will have to clean it : use one of those cleaning disks. If the problem isn't fixed completely then the dust has been baked on the laser lens and the player is dead - unfixable, time for a new one.
After plugging in-will not turn on?
You may have a blown fuse. You can remove the screws and pull off the outter shell. When you look inside, you should see a glass tube which is the fuse. Inside the glass tube there should be a thin wire that is supposed to run all the way across the tube. If that thin wire is broken or the fuse looks burnt, then it should be replaced.
When i put in a disk it spins for a bit and then
There is a malfunction in the The Laser Pickup Assembly, not cost effective for repair. One possible solution is to clean the laser pickup lens with a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol, this might get it up and running if it works.
When i place dvd in
Hello,
how
long have you been using this player? I suspect the laser (lens) of the
player. I think the laser (lens) is weak that's why it cannot read
data/files on DVD discs.
To confirm if actually its a laser
problem, insert an Audio CD into the player and see if will play. If it
plays, then obviously, your laser (lens) is weak. But if it doesn't play
Audio CD, then it might still be the laser (lens) or a mechanism
problem.
Get a lens cleaner, use it
to clean the lens. If that doesn't solve the problem, get a screw
driver, open the player's cover so that you can gain access to the lens,
use a cotton board to clean the surface of the lens. This should clean
dust or dirt that might be on the lens.
If non of the above solves the problem, then know that you need to replace the laser to a brand new one.
To
replace the lens, remove the bad laser, use it as a sample to get
exactly the same type and do the replacement. Note that replacing a
laser (lens) needs a professional touch, so if you cannot replace the
laser, get it to a repairman to fix it for you.
Once this us done, your player will play all DVD discs again.
Good luck.
No audio is coming
check settings maybe its muted press mute in the remote or maybe your volume controls are flat check also your connections and the amplifier you drives for it.
Bought it year ago used it 5 times wont power on
There are two common poblems that occur with the 300 DVD player. Either the machine will not power up at all and the power indicator won't work or after a disk has been inserted the on screen display will say "loading disk" but then say "bad disk".
First remove the top cover secured wih screws, you will now be able to identify the power supply board. At the output connector measure the 5 volt output with a voltmeter. If less than 4V, than the unit will not work properly. The filter capacitors are bad. Replace C10, 2200uf@ 10V and C11, 1000uf@10V. Because of the limited space provided, use capacitors of the same physical size. Do not try to pigtail a larger cap in its place.
The circuit will not operate properly. I can supply these if you can't find them locally.
THE DVD PLAYS, BUT THERE'S
Check the sound settings on your tv. go into the menu and scroll to sound. this is especially important if you are using an hdmi cable. but even with rca jacks my hdtv needed to be set up in the menu.
also make sure your cables are properly plugged in ie audio -in-, audio-out
